Most of the violence happens in about 5 to 7 neighborhoods. Outside of those pockets Chicago overall is a world-class city and one of the top 10 wealthiest cities in the world and even as far as African-Americans, Cook county is home to the most black-owned businesses in the USA.

Not saying it is or it isn't but you can Google: "Chicago is the best city to live in" and there's a ton of results and for good reasons. I grew up there in the 80's and 90's and things were alot worse back then. These kids today don't know about real public housings and back then Chicago had 900+ murders, now they have smartphones and are a few miles from one of the most economically enriched downtown's in the world and al the opportunity in the world. There's plenty of people in Chicago from the ghetto that made it out. Look at Michelle Obama. She used to live in O-Block! LOL
