The amount of work that you have saved me in guiding me through the bowels of this camera is worth far more than the few dollars I paid. You have made photography accessible on an artistic level.

Hi Peter, Thanks for your explanation. I use Olympus PEN-F for street photography and I customized C1 to C4. It is a nice and small camera. You were used to Olympus for many years. I'm wondering why you have chosen for GR3X in stead of Olympus PEN-F, or for instance OM-D E-M10. Would you comment on that?
@johnstephen28697 ай бұрын
Good point my friend, but can the PEN-F do anything that my OM-5 can't do? Maybe a little smaller perhaps.
@Mr0303rma7 ай бұрын
@@johnstephen2869 The PEN-F was introduced in 2016. So the technology is now somewhat dated. Nevertheless, it is a pretty fast camera. And small, fits in a jacket pocket. And in any case much smaller than the OM-1, which I also use, and OM-5 probably.

Im more inclined to go GR3 but im curious on the GR3 vs the x100VI but i did buy my daughter the x100-6 and it is pretty awesome. More of a JPEG monster and fun
@ForsgardPeter8 ай бұрын
Fuji X100VI is a great camera. I have not tested it, but I did test the X100V and I suspect that the experience is quite the same. X100VI has one important upgrade that is very important, IBIS. For me X100VI would propably be too big. I like a small and not so fancy looking camera. Smaller camera is easier to carry around and it makes me invisible too. But I do agree that X100VI is a great choice for many. Fuji has really hit the nail with its newest camera.
@ericlundquist34668 ай бұрын
@ForsgardPeter the main reason I want the Ricoh is its truly a pocket able camera with great image quality. From holding the x100VI, you need a big coat pocket. Everyone is waiting on a GR4, and if that happens, my om1 gets sidelined for nature only. I won't need my 18mm, 20mm, or 45mm anymore, lol. It's just too big, and I feel like a dumbass walking around for everyday photography with an OM1.

Hi. Thanks for the video :-) I wondered what the rectangular hood you have on the Ricoh is please? The one on Amazon is expensive and gets bad reviews for falling off the camera
@ForsgardPeter3 ай бұрын
It is from squarehood.se. This one works really well.

In my personal experience, a minimal shutter speed of 1/400s or even 1/500 has worked out the best, with only rare moments when I did not capture an image without blur. During the evening or in lower light, it might be OK to lower the speed to 1/320s, or even 1/250s which freezes most normal movement. I am using auto focus, and will half press the shutter button at a distance, but guess work, where I most likely will be taking an image, just to get to a closer range. That way, when I press the shutter, it usually finds the target, focuses and locks in well. I love how fast and accurate Lumix GX9 is, with most of the MFT lenses. The Leica 15mm is great on the street. I use Nikon, and other cameras the same way. Always try to help the auto focus be close to where it needs to be. For portrait and architecture I agree, the 1/125s, is enough. Glad you like the Gr IIIx, a light carry! - Loren

Hi, and thank you so much for the video, really helped me get started with my new Richo. One question, what lens do you have on your cam in the video?' And whats its benefit?
@ForsgardPeterАй бұрын
Do you mean the lens on Fuji X-S20 that I am using to film the video. I believe I had a 33mm F1.4 for this one. In my newer videos I use the TTArtisan 27mm F2.8 lens.
@Tommy2101Ай бұрын
@@ForsgardPeter @ForsgardPeter no, sorry for the confusion. I meant the lence on the richo 3x you are talking about in the video, the square one. What model is it, and what benefits does it give the camera?

It is a lens hood and it prevents flares. It is also a filter holder, there is 49mm filter thread. I sometimes use a mist filter. It is from Squarehood.se.
