Thank you for making these videos and please continue to do so. You have no idea how therapeutic these are. I’ve been dealing with a lot of mental health issues the past couple of months and am at square 1 again. I started to get back into shooting as a hobby to keep my mind occupied; these videos allow me to escape the workday and everything going on and force me to slow down, enjoy the scenery, enjoy photography for what it is without bogging down in details, and also learn some great composition tips all along the way. I recently purchased the Ricoh GRIII X (backordered but I was patient!) after watching your go-pro POV photography videos and wow, this thing is super sharp and sweet in such a compact form. I’m going into the city tomorrow and absolutely can’t wait to have this in my pocket for street photography. Thank you again for doing what you do, and best wishes from Washington D.C.

Nice idea. This will be an interesting story to watch. I'm curious to find out what your personal insights are. Personally, I went with a trial by fire. I didn't want to take any gear with me on a road trip around the south of México, so I used my GRII exclusively and really pushed myself to overcome. I think everything finally clicked for me about half-way through my trip and my photos got exponentially better. That story alone made me love my images and experience documenting more. Especially because my gear was never in the way. I actually did the same with my iPhone on my first trip to Thailand in 2012, and really liked it except for the low resolution. Some of my favourite images came out of getting more creative with the frame because I couldn't get closer or zoom in.

Great video! I own both GRIII and IIIx. I use GRIII more since 28mm fits more to me. But 40mm is also practical so that both cameras are always with me ;-)

Sounds very nice to have both the 28 and 40mm :) We all have our preferences but for sure, both of them can take excellent images

It's my first week using the GRIIIx and I love it so far. I hope to get my hands on a GRII for the 28mm, flash, and original Positive Film effect if ever possible.

Hi Adrian, your Channel is an inspiration for me, thanks for your hard work! Next month I am going to visit Japan after 4 years and I’ll have with me my trusty Fuji XT1 with a wide lens a general zoom and a 23 f2. I would like to buy and try a GR3 to use in the evening/night but I am not sure if is gonna be redundant having for the same reason the 23 f2. Probably I want to satisfy my thirst of buying a new camera! What do think and what is your suggestion? Greetings from Italy.
@adriensanguinetti Жыл бұрын
I think your Fuji is already plenty good but if you want something smaller the GR can be a good option to consider

Dear Adrien, what you are creating is poetry. Thank you! I am passionate about photography for a long time (my father was also a professional photographer). However, recently, I do not take so many photos. I am working in another field but still close to art. I would like to come back more to photography. I am working long years with Canon 60d (sometimes also with analog Zenit) but as you know it is enough big and heavy camera (lens Tamron 28-70mm, f 2.8) and I feel that I need to refresh my "photo garage". I have realized that I like real-life situations in cities with documentary characters. I am Pole, based in Turkey, in Istanbul and Ankara, I love street photography. Because of it, I consider buying a smaller camera. I am thinking about Ricoh GR III or some Fujifilm cameras. I would like to make also a good videos with this camera. Could you please suggest me something before buying? I saw recently that Ricoh Diary Edition is coming, it looks pretty beautiful (which is important to me as well). I will be grateful to hear from you. I wish you all the best and an inspiring exploration of the photography world. Take care and see you, Michał
@adriensanguinetti Жыл бұрын
Dear Michał, thank you for reaching out and the nice words. I love seeing your enthusiasm towards getting back to photography :) Istanbul seems very exciting for street photography. Both cameras are great for photos and it all comes down to your preference in terms of size and if you want it to be pocketable or not. For the video though it is different. I love the GR cameras but one thing for sure they cannot take videos. Technically you can capture video clips with them but they look terrible. If you really consider video you would have to go for a Fujifilm that has good video specs. I hope it helps. Best regards :)

@@adriensanguinetti Dear Adrien, thank you for your response and for your detailed, sincere, and warm message! First of all, I am sorry I am responding to you a bit late but I was all weekend out of my computer. I have a calmer time to text you now. I am kind of a very undecided person, however, when I decide on something, I am going to do this fully and with passion, enjoying this activity. Using a 10 year old Canon 60d I would like to refresh my “photo gear”, especially now that I know which type of photography I would love to do. I am 34 years old, a teacher living in Turkey, working at university, writing, translating, traveling, and living in a couple of countries and even more cities, but still not satisfied and hesitating to enjoy in that way what I want or I think/feel what I want… When I was about 24 years old, I gave up photography for acting, later for contemporary dance and pedagogy. However, despite a longer break, photography is in my veins, and I am coming back to photography, the passion of my late father… Today, instead of taking a move (for example just buying a new camera), I am thinking about which model I should choose, when, etc. And like this my concerns are: a) if Ricoh GR then which one: III or IIIx or maybe is better to wait some time for the successor of Ricoh GR III? b) if Ricoh would be only for street and photography then if my budget will allow, then the second camera will be some Fujifilm, for instance, XE4 or XS10, just to have better video and still great photos as you have mentioned; c) or maybe not two small but one professional camera like your Sony A7IV (actually V is also available with 8k) or Fujifilm H2S; d) or photo camera for photos but for video typical video camera, then maybe something from Sony? These types of questions are too frequently in my mind, blocking me to take real action and just have as much as possible shooting and exploring, maybe somehow connecting a couple of my passions. But if I do not try, I will not know it. I feel that photography, writing, teaching, and learning foreign languages help me to get out of my depression. When I have realized it, I would love to continue and dive more into these fields that I really love. At some point I considered vlogging, making short films, taking photos, connecting them with text… I and my fiance, Tuba (she loves taking pictures too!), love traveling and Japan as well and we do hope to meet you someday. You are always welcome in Istanbul and Ankara, too! Btw I took many photos last Saturday (after a longer break) and I am pretty satisfied with them :) Your words and your works inspired me and gave me the strength to keep a camera all day in my hands. Thank you! You are a very brave person who is sharing good and calm energy around, so needed nowadays. I wish you a good and inspiring time for your photography and cinematography in Japan and around the World. I am sorry for my long letter… it really became a letter :) Take care and stay safe, keeping your ikigai! Best regards, Michał PS What do you think about Fujifilm X100V as an option for me?
