Very nice work!! Why not embroider everything directly on the hat? From the outside looking in, it seems more work was created and quality of hat was decreased by using the heat pressed patch that could potentially peel off over time.
@ricomatvАй бұрын
Great question, and you’re absolutely right-embroidering directly on the hat can offer a cleaner and more durable finish. However, using heat-pressed patches can sometimes be the preferred method for certain designs, particularly when dealing with complex or highly detailed logos that might not embroider as well on curved surfaces. It can also allow for more flexibility in terms of design placement and color options. That said, for long-term durability and a premium feel, direct embroidery is often the best choice when feasible!

Great content. One question: you use the “heat bond”facing the “shrink wrap”, that was the base on the hoop, and consequently, the last layer on the patch. Is this an efficient glue/tacky?
@ricomatv Жыл бұрын
Hi! Great question, we will look into this!
@MannyzCustomz Жыл бұрын
I have that same adhesive I can get the patches to adhere to my hats but they never stay on long do you think I need to bump up the temp and time when I press
@ricomatv Жыл бұрын
Hi Emmanuel! Try to place the patches face down onto the flat heat press, place the Heat n Bond sheet over the patches and a Teflon sheet on top of the heat and bond sheet. Press at 310 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 seconds to fuse the heat and bond to the patches. Then, just peel the sheet from the patches. To attach the patches to the caps, insert a cap in the cap heat press, place a patch on the cap, put a Teflon sheet over the patch and press at 310 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 seconds.

And curious why not embroider onto the hat? Why the patch period?
@swansonfinearts Жыл бұрын
@@trinawidders3535 It's easier to hoop flats than caps, and you can do a lot of patches per time you hoop compared to having to hoop each individual hat. Hope that helps, embroidery is amazing but also tough!
@trinawidders3535 Жыл бұрын
@@swansonfinearts ok makes sense. So faster to load hats on the iq360 heat press vs embroidery hoops? Along with the cutting, prepping, adhesiving etc. Also, do you always need to have the twill to embroider as the background or can you just make the patches onto the tear away backing without the border if you are not going for that "patch" look yet still want the effiency like you're talking about above.

Just wondering how come you chose to put a patch on the cap instead of just embroidering straight on the cap?
@ricomatv Жыл бұрын
Embroidered patches are significantly cheaper and are the most cost-effective option versus direct embroidery. You will be able to reuse your embroidered patch elsewhere, whereas with direct embroidery does not allow you to do so.

This ass hat of an embroiderer should of just used the patch material as an applique embroidered directly to the cap with a satin edge border giving the appearance of a patch w/o wasting a bunch of time making a patch to attach to the cap as applique anyway. Unless this Dude was able to sell those caps for $35-$40 each (which he didn't) he made zero profit on this cap order..... Just Sayin'!!
