MY fellow Potterheads, Firstly I just want to say as always, Thank you, your support on this new KZbin journey/venture of mine, it has been amazing, And honestly I appreciate you all soooo much, I really hope you enjoy this video as this truly was super fun for Me and Monica to record!!! I do however have some sad news, unfortunately Monica has had to go back to work this week and as we don’t yet live together, and myself being a person who falls under the COVID “High Risk” category, I’m going to have to self isolate. As much as I don’t want to, for the time being we will have to put a hold on the HP reaction videos, at least untill a time in which my girlfriend can be in the same room as me, without potentially killing me. (Without me actually pissing her off this time 😂😂) However, this isn’t the end, the minute it’s safe to be together we will, and we’ll start the recording again, in the meantime there will be plenty of content from myself, I plan on Reacting to a few Movies and Tv shows as you’ll know from my last video! The Story of the Marauders is sadly not told in the movies. They where Moony (Remus Lupin), Wormtail (Peter Pettigrew), Padfoot (Sirius Black) and Prongs (James Potter). They met in the train just like Harry and Ron and had something against Snape right away. Lupin was turned into a werewolf by Fenrir Greyback when he was just a child. So his parents where surprised when Dumbledore showed up to Invite Lupin to Hogwarts and told them they planted the whomping willow and created a secret passageway under it, so he could hide in his werewolf form and not hurt anyone when it’s full-moon. So Lupin was pretty lucky to meet James and Sirius since he never had friends. But he was afraid they would find out what he is, what they eventually did, since he disappeared every month. However when they found out, they respected Lupin as he was and decided to support him. So they started to figure out how to become animagi (turn into animals). However it took them serveral years and I think they didn’t even told it to Lupin until it’s finished since it’s one of the most complicated potions ever. But in the end Sirius could turn into a big, black dog and James became a Stag so they could handle Lupin. Peter however became a Rat so he could „deactivate“ the whomping willow. In their Animal forms, Lupin wouldn’t attack them and seemed to get clearer and clearer. They made the worst time of his life to one of the best times of his life. Together they discovered more of Hogwarts then anyone else and so they created the Marauders map. A great story of friendship. Really sad it isn’t in the movie.

Here is my usual fun fact. The Dementors are a representation of depression. Harry's dad, James along with Sirius, Lupin, Pettigrew and Lily all attended Hogwarts with Snape. They were all in the same year. The Whomping Willow (the tree that's alive) was planted the year James, Lupin, etc arrived for Lupin. Dumbledore knew Lupin was a werewolf and planted the tree to stop students or anyone from accidentally travelling through the secret passageway. It leads to the Shrieking Shack and the locals of the village, Hogesmede, would hear howling and screaming from the house. That was Lupin when he was a werewolf in there. Others have already said that James, Sirius and Peter transformed themselves to become animagus so they could be with Lupin. Also, something that annoys me but I guess it would have been hard for the writers to put in is that the real MVP of Prisoner of Azkaban is Crookshanks (Hermione's cat). He knew Scabbers was Pettigrew which is why he kept chasing and attacking him. He also become friends with Sirius in his dog form and they would work together to capture Scabbers. There's also a deleted scene (but is in the books too) that Sirius broke into Gryffindor Tower and went into the boys' dormitory to take Scabbers but Ron woke up and started screaming. Sirius was able to get in the common room because Crookshanks stole the list of passwords that Neville had written down (because he kept forgetting the passwords). Professor McGonagall is well annoyed with Neville.

15:45 in the Books Trelawney tells someone he will die every year she has a new class. It’s kind of an running gag from her to make the class curious and afraid. McGonagall tells that to Harry after the class doesn’t pay attention to her the next lesson.

One thing I feel people often miss is how stellar the cast is in these movies - this is the cream of British acting talent - from the "regulars" - Sir Michael Gambon (& Richard Harris before him), Dame Maggie Smith (McGonagall), Alan Rickman (Snape), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon), Julie Walter's (Mrs Weasley) to the guest cast - Gary Oldman (Sirius), David Thewlis (Lupin), Timothy Spall (Peter Pettigrew), & Emma Thompson (Professor Trewlawney). First you gotta give her a false sense of security, especially towards her beloved character. I saw her not wanting Lupin to go and she also said that maybe he won't comeback because you said all the dark arts teacher will always changes each movies.. just confirmed this, so when he comes back it's gonna be so pleasant, BUT when she thinks Lupin won't die.. just tell her he survived the last movie that means the author must loved him so he probably won't die... you might get wacked XD

35:05 Let's be clear here: Snape absolutely did NOT come there to save them though. Not even a little. I know the movie just cuts and never explains a lot of stuff in the book but Snape was only there to hurt Sirius and Lupin. The only interaction he had with the kids was yelling at them, calling them names, and threatening them. He definitely did not give a damn about them. In the book it was also the force of simultaneous casting from all the trio that knocked Snape unconscious, which was also how he stayed throughout the rest of it. Definitely did not put himself between Lupin and the kids, and even if he'd been conscious he never would have.

@@bibek6713 I disagree on him caring about Harry. Snape is very clear even in the last book that he does not care about Harry at all and never has. The fact that he saved Harry's life was never once for Harry's sake, it was always for his own reasons and this wasn't altered even in the movies. I also have to disagree on him being better in the movies. While Alan Rickman was phenomenal, absolutely stupendous and I love him in the role, I never could get behind how they romanticized Snape's character in the movies. Especially throughout the Deathly Hallows films. I can see why people find him more appealing in the movies, but personally I just can't separate him so completely from the character I know from the books. Snape is definitely one of the more interesting characters in the series, but I'm so tired of the discourse of whether he was good or bad, and this obviously generates mainly from the changes they made in the movies. Snape is a bad guy who did good things for the wrong reasons. It's what makes him so interesting. His nastiness is of course way more indisputable in the books but not completely absent from the movies so as to successfully make him the tragic antihero they try to change him into in the movies. So for that reason, I prefer the books' version :) (Excluding the epilogue of course, what epilogue. Everyone hated that. Didn't happen :'D)

@@naniyodesu i get it mate When i completed all the movies after reading the books i couldnt even force myself to liking him But after watching the movies multiple times and seeing some new stuffs they added to snape's character he definitely cared more for harry in the movies than books He was portrayed like a true hero who has a bad mouth and attitude in the movies Remember dumbledore saying have you grown to care for the boy at the end? Yes all of them he did for lily but over the time in movies they showed glimpses of him caring for harry But my god the book snape was not just bad he was a monster He was too much for me Thats why i like the movie snape He is quite balanced and interesting The narrative of people claiming snape was good are mostly the ones who haven't read the books which you can guess are the vast majority I am an indian and i tell you almost everyone here have watched the movies But when i ask them about the books none of them have read it So its understandable that they dont have that reference of snape being bad

Okay, but you're talking about the book iteration, many things in the movies were changed. One of those changes was making Snape more than just this sad, miserable old man. Because he most definitely placed himself between Lupin and the kids intentionally.

@@deadlysilence7474 Yes, of course, he obviously did that in the movie. I'm not arguing that what we saw didn't happen on screen. But like you said, I was clearly talking about his original character in the books. Also, "more than just this sad, miserable old man" is a curious way to describe him, because I would argue the opposite. Snape in the books is already definitely more than "just" anything. He's a very complex character that they just changed drastically for the movies. So it's not that they made him "more" somehow, because he was plenty interesting already. They simply made him different, which I just did not like. And one reason is because I just find the movie version of him to actually be more cliche. Whether one likes the book or movie more is honestly just a matter of opinion. I just like to bring up Snape's character change to people who are not aware of it.

The reason why Harry didn't want Peter Pettigrew to be killed was so he can use it as evidence that he is actually alive and the true murderer of Harry's parents. This way Sirius can be set free by clearing his name. Unfortunately, that plan didn't go well.:)

It is also interesting how he changed his mind from the beginning to the end. When he hears about Sirius Black he says he wants to kill him and that he deserves the Dementors kiss but by the end when someone who has done worse than what Sirius supposedly done is about to be murdered he stops them.

After he knew it wasn't him, he changed his mind because he wanted Sirius to become his guardian (since he is the closest family Harry could have and knows his parents very well), and by doing that, Harry had no choice but to deliver Pettigrew to Azkaban so he can be with Sirius. Otherwise, they wouldn't believe him if Peter was killed at that moment. (Since people already thought he was murdered by Sirius ten years ago).

I've watched sooooo many reaction videos (I play them in the background while I work, so I get through tons) and this HP series with your gf is honestly the best I've seen. Monica, I actually didn't watch until I was well into adulthood and didn't get the big deal about it all. I started liking the movies more and more as they went on. Harry’s dad James, Sirius, and Peter learned to be animagi to spend time with Remus when he became a werewolf every month. They became a stag, dog, and rat, i.e. Prongs, Padfoot, and Wormtail to Lupin’s Moony. They are the original Marauders that made the map based on their explorations of the grounds as animals. Notice when Harry casts his corporeal patronus at the end, it becomes a stag, just like his father’s animagus form.

I love how much Snape shows how he cares for the gang in this movie, especially with him teaching the class about werewolves so they are more informed, I don't fully understand why he wasn't the defense against the dark arts teacher, he could have taught them so much x

I think the reason he taught the children about werewolves, was not so they were informed, but so that somebody would figure out what Remus was and out him to the parents so he'd get kicked out of hogwarts. It's heavily implied that Snape was also the one who ultimately did leak Lupin's condition to the parents being the reason for him to leave the school again.

Just a little funny book detail: the Gryffindor and Slytherin tables are actually at opposite ends of the hall in the books. All of Draco and Harry's little snide remarks to eachother were shouted across the hall. Those two were ridiculous 😂😂😂

Prisoners of Azkaban is my fav one. No dark stuff, freedom to the innocents, the comedy style, beautiful landscapes, patronuses, sneaky visits to hogsmeade, the map, childhood of marauders...I really love it. People seem to not like trelawny but she’s actually really good at what she does. There is this rule when going to dinner party’s with 13 people, that the one who leaves or stands up from the table first is to die. Trelawny knew this and when invited to a party with I think other professors I think she refused because she would have been the thirteenth guest. But at that table that night was scabbers so technically there were 13 people already and I’m pretty sure the first to sit up from that table was one of the characters who dies (probably dumbledore) and this happens again in the order of the pheonix when we see Sirius make a toast at the table, there are thirteen people seated and he is first to stand up. Then the same happened with Fred in the burrow. Just thought it was an interesting piece of info that I wanted to share :)

This is my favorite Harry Potter movie. I love Sirius and Lupin and love the bonding between them and Harry. This movie gives a ton of hope for Harry again cause it gives him more family connections. Also, most importantly, ever since I was a kid and even now I would sometimes yell "EXPECTO PATRONUM!!!" just cause Daniel Radcliffe does such an incredible job doing it and I love trying to mimic that perfection

This is the movie where Monica became a Potterhead, her amazement when Harry conjured the patronus on the lake the first time and her face of realization when she discovered it was Harry that did it were priceless! Also, I'm pretty sure that if she were sorted she'd probably fall into Ravenclaw for all the analyzing she does(though I'm very analytical as well yet am a proud Hufflepuff so who really knows xD)
