Amazed by how good theses Hondas are. I think this is Honda #5 or #6 documented that has 1 million miles. Great stuff man. We’ll call Honda or email Honda of USA and Honda in Japan that one of their units has reached 1Million miles. You should make another sitting down showing us all the things you’ve done to the car. Again congratulations and cheers 🍻.

Thank you! I've seen stories of around 5 other Accords. Ours is the newest Accord and the only 7th gen to do it. There's also a red CRX and also a CR-V that I've seen stories about. I've given Honda USA different updates over the last few years. I'll do another now that it accomplished it.

Thanks for the kind words. This is the j series 3.0. This is the first year of the 6spd manual transmission in these cars. I think it's really funny that this video starts with the motor misfiring. But regardless it's awesome seeing one of these hit 1000000 miles. I got a 2003 6-6 accord too. Coupe aswell, but it's blue with black interior. Slapped in a TL j32 and it's a really fun car. Burnt out the oem clutch though. It was slipping before I got the car and putting the j32 plus too many burnouts finished it off. Got a luk kit in hand, gonna put it in soon so I can drive it again. I'm third owner of the vehicle and it's in great shape. I believe mine is only around 230k, but I know it will go much much further.

That's me on DA. I started writing about it in the fall of 2019. Have documented all of the good and bad since then. I run Mobil 1 5w-20. I now only use the Aisin TKH002 timing belt kit and replace around every 100k. I replaced the fluid in my MT every 100k with Redline MTL (we'll at least in the second transmission...). Otherwise fixing stuff as it needs it. I have a whole ton of posts on there about how long parts lasted, which parts I used, etc.

How frequently did you change transmission fluid? Brake fluid? Power steering fluid? Engine Oil?
@txaccord5 ай бұрын
Manual transmission - I changed the fluid about every 100k. Brake fluid - I would just bleed some fluid when I changed the brakes. Never completely changed it. PS fluid would get replaced when I changed PS pumps and occasionally I'd drain the reservoir and replace the fluid if it looked dirty. Engine oil - I mostly did 15k mile intervals on Mobil 1 5w-20. On my new engine, I'm running Mobil 1 5w-20 around 6-7k intervals.
@Ricky07070909 Жыл бұрын
So many questions! :D Did you have to change the catalyst often? Which part did you have to change more often? Did you put any modifications? What part that you'v changed was the most expensive (Aside Catalysts) ? And, congratulations!! :D
@txaccord Жыл бұрын
Stock cats lasted around 500k. Then I used Dorman cats. They didn't last long. I then installed Walker cats. Those were much better but my engine was so sick by then that it messed up the cats. I installed another set of Walker cats after installing the new engine. Cold air intake and aftermarket exhaust were the only mods to the old engine. I have a throttle body spacer and intake spacer on the new engine. Seems like I've changed all of the suspension pieces a few times. Most expensive part besides cats is probably the clutch/flywheel. Thanks for the questions and kind words.

@txaccord Жыл бұрын
Big things to do/consider: Timing belt should be replaced every 7yrs or 105k miles. If it's been neglected, this probably needs done. I'd also change the manual transmission fluid. I run Redline MTL in mine. Otherwise, I'd check over the usual stuff like suspension and brakes. These are great cars. Enjoyable to drive and generally affordable to fix (the timing belt job is an expensive maintenance item at a shop - usually around $1k). Check out some of my other videos like where I talk about I only use OEM for certain parts on this car. Mine has been very reliable and enjoyable to drive.
