Now imagine the Z06 Engine with an 200+ hp electric motor upfront. That car will leap off the line like a scalded cat and eat 0-60 in under 2.2 seconds on the way to the quarter mile in well under 10 seconds. The 911 turbo S is looking around nervously.

We hear unofficially the base C8 LT2 engine may be getting a slight engine tune up, by about 10hp to 15hp for the 2024 model. If so the E-Ray would likely benefit frould be tweaked up a bit more as well.om this also. So maybe the E-Ray will be a 665hp or even 670hp machine nearer the 2024 model production dates in summer 2023. It may sweeten the whopping $104k price (excluding delivery & all the fluff). Likely the real eventual E-Ray hp figures have not been revealed so as also not to SPOOK the base C8 customers in holding off purchasing a base C8 prior to Summer 2023. Continued sales is what they want, not buyers holding off for 9 months or so to get a slightly more powerful vehicle. Continued sales and continued DEMAND is what they want, manufacturers are very careful not to upset that once they have that in their hands. Ford are upgrading the 2024 model year Mustang Fastback GT's hp, I expect that Chevrolet are also lightly to. Possibly even 20hp more than the non Z51 packaged C8 currently at 490hp. So it could be a minimum of a 510hp vehicle. If Chevrolet do not tweak the LT2 engine after what would be around nearly 4 years of production they could well lose some base C8 1LT trim sales in favour of buyers instead getting such vehicles as a 2024 480hp Mustang Fastback GT. Which 2023 models are currently priced at $38k, so maybe a price bump up to $40k or so. BUT it is a mighty $25k cheaper than a base C8. Both great VFM for what they are. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The E-Ray is priced more than was expected, as was the C8 Z06. Of the two I'd sooner have the E-Ray and later on slap a Supercharger in it. As some buyers will do, getting a 900+hp and 800+ft/lbs of torque vehicle with AWD for under $125k. From the sound of it only the ZORA will also be AWD. Though that would likely get the LT6 Z06 engine (and a Supercharger, not the widely expected turbo system) plus a more powerful electric motor. The E-Ray though has the POTENTIAL to be more than what it initially would be offered as. A poor mans ZORA if they want to spend up to $20k for a supercharger or a turbo to be supplied & fitted. ZORA's would likely come in at not far off $200k. $175k+ for sure. So I bet many E-Rays do get modded up, (supercharged or turbo charged), especially when the ZORA does in limited supply and huge dealer mark ups finally hit the streets. The BASE C8 in lowest trim is good enough for anyone, it's good enough for me. The C8 Z06, E-Ray, C8 ZR1 and the ZORA are in incremental fashion the icing on the cake. What a phenomena and great success the C8 Corvette range is, with still 2 more to come!.

Waiting for the first E-ray with a ProCharger!! Should be able to produce 850HP and hopefully for $25,000... or less. Might be a strong contender for a new twin turbo ZR1 and save $20,000 as we know a ZR1 is going to be $200,000 or in that price range!!

I think it's not necessarily people not being able to afford it but that a lot backed out because of dealers marking up cars like crazy. Hell I've seen some dealers marking up close to 200k+, it's insane.

That's disappointing if it's fake (I'm sure you're right as otherwise don't know why you would have mentioned it). I doubt I'll buy a car with an engine again, but the combo of the V8 sound from my old Jaguar and the electric whine sounded great to me.

@@davidellis4031 I'd agree. I have no problems with an EV sound (as long as we're actually hearing the motor). I enjoy a good engine sound. For me it's the real factor. I don't like fake engine sounds, which are sadly more common these days. I don't like fake EV sounds either. Several OEMs do it. I've experienced both and I can't see how this was genuine.
