People are extremely underestimating the power of these dogs and what they are capable of

The humans want to do it. They can pull the sleds.

Isn’t it cruel to these doggos? 1,000 miles in freezing cold& possibly bad weather. They don’t even have any coats on. Glad to see they have on boots but are these tge best protective materials? Shouldn’t there be new rules for this sport since it’s no lt the olden days when their dogs died bc they were ignorant about science& health vs what we know today ?

A lot of them die or get sick on the way. Their owners only care about winning 🥇

Brings business to the area also the other reason they permit this abuse there

Actually, the people that originally did this the first time said they would never do this to a dog, the dogs were switched out after a certain amount of miles and fresh dogs put in, so it was reasonable. This what they do now is a fabrication of the past and a horrible lie to the detriment of huskies they kill every year that don’t meet their standards. They are highly sociable animals but have none since they are chained to a pole outdoors year round. This cruel sport needs to be exposed and stopped if they can’t do it right.

No, it is not. These dogs are a made for cold temperatures and love to run. Cruel is to own a malamute in Texas.

Abuse. No dog should be expected to travel 1000 miles. They are treated terrible year round and neglected and killed when they don’t meet standards. No respect for animals.

huskies were bred for the SOLE purpose of this. only in the last 60 years or so has this sport fell off in america. they were born and raised for this, and genetically adapted for this. anything less would be a crime

Look for "sled dog's metabolism mechanic." They are a marvel of life form, possibly even more fascinating than us humans, that *never gets tired of running so long as they are fed properly.* This is not a figure of speech, but they literally do not know what it is like to feel tired. They can translate energy they consume continuously into muscle power without ever needing to rest. Not to mention that they inherently love running.
@juu45244 ай бұрын
This is how dogs should be, just keeping them inside with no purpose is the real abuse. And if a breed can’t stay outside most of the time it’s overbred and it’s existance is abuse.

@@juu4524exactly. Certain humans love to patronise animals and look at them through a humanistic lens. Absolute lunacy to say the least
