Tampa Police Department holds a Citizens Police Academy which includes a Police ride along for an entire 12 hour shift or half shift. You are assigned a bullet proof vest so no worries. :( lol! You also get to volunteer to get Tased! One person in our group passed out. Poor guy. Oddly enough, people were a bit hesitant to step up after that. I wonder why? lol! Much respect to these guys who do it on the daily. Lots of other "fun" activities to demonstrate what police officers go through/experience to include a meet and greet/briefing from The Tampa Police Chief himself Eric Ward . Haha, The ford Taurus is a V6, but its the SHO so it has a twin Turbos. It actually has more power than both the Charger R/T (Which is the Police interceptor they have in service) and the Crown Victoria. The R/T has 340-350 HP, the Crown Victoria has 235-260 HP, as the V6 SHO having 365 HP.

+Jeff Snyder January of 2014, AWD and the BR9 brakes became optional on the Charger Pursuit. In Oct 2014, the new 2015 Pursuits came with the BR9 brakes as standard, and the only model available with the 5.7 Hemi and AWD. It is also the only vehicle being produced that uses the Chrysler A580 (formerly NAG1) 5-spd auto.

trent4421 Yes I know but fleet vehicles aren't usually expensive. I cant imagine an AWD Charger being cheap. Plus I like to think I know my cars and that one looked like a plain civilian Charger STX simply with a police paint job. Like I said I don't think Dodge even makes a Charger AWD period. And if they did make it special for PD's I don't see why they don't make a more expensive civilian one with an option to upgrade to AWD. Police Tahoe's have 4WD and so do the civilian ones.

The answer to your question is that the information is stored digitally and can not be accessed unless a memory chip is inserted into a computer by an investigator. Patrol cops dont have access to it.

Generally, you see something restricting officers in unmarked cars from performing traffic stops unless they are in a uniform, but I doubt there is anything saying they can't drive an unmarked car around unless they are in uniform. But, again, you'd have to check the laws in each state. There is nothing federally that regulates this particular topic in any state.

No, it didn't. Ford whined and cried to the MSP to make Dodge and Chevy run their test with all ESC and ETC fully on. Even with that, the Taurus (soon to be discontinued) averaged less than a half second quicker through the road course than the Charger, and tied in top speed.
