Really like this bike, it reminds me of all the BSAs I rode in my early biking years, but smoother and able to contain all its oil! I want one of these and a Himalayan in my garage!

Nice one, these things are flying out of the dealerships here in the UK, Enfield have really hit the mark with this bike, there is talk of them putting the 650 engine into a ADV and Meteor type machine...

Hey Rabid. I think RE is hitting it out of the ballpark. Their motorcycles look like motorcycles, not spaceships. I have heard that they have trademarked 4 new names and hopefully they will be imported to the states. The one I am very interested in is one I believe will be called the "Hunter". It has the same 650 as the GT and INT but is styled like the Meteor. And like the Meteor, it will have tubeless tires. I have loved motorcycles since I was 12 and I turned 71 this month. I currently own a 2018 CB500f and a Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle. If and when the "Hunter" shows up, the Honda will get traded. Something that is important to a lot of people is that with the exception of the Continental GT, they all have center stands. At any rate, I enjoyed your 4 reviews of the RE's.

I'm in same ballpark as you waiting on RE to make a 650 cruiser style motorcycle. I've found several videos on youtube reference it as the "shotgun". I absolutely love the look of the Interceptor, I just love the look of air cooled parallel twins. I'm hesitant to try the INT because i already have a older standard Yamaha that i like visually but my legs get cramped very fast. Being over 6' tall has some drawbacks. The only other bike that I'm keeping a eye on is the Kawasaki Vulcan S 650

@@turningwrenchesonoldcars4091 So it's the "Shotgun". Thank you. I bet the Hunter will be a 650 in Himalayan style. I don't like the new Kaw 650RS. It has a radiator and a monoshock. To me it, like the 900 RS is not very retro. I also like that valve sets on an RE are a breeze, no fiddling with shims or removing cams. I'm old and like simple.

S&S make a 864cc big bore kit for the RE 650s which gets you 70+hp - RE recommend upgrading the brakes! Don't forget the 3 year warranty and roadside assistance included in the price, these bikes are clearly meant to last.

Love your reviews. I watched a bunch of your videos before buying an INT650 last year over an SR400 or TU250X. Super happy I did.

I wish I had the ability to ride the Enfields before now, but we were kind of far away at that time. I am glad that they are increasing their footprint.

Glad you liked the Inty, but boy did they take you on some boring and ugly roads to ride… all straight lines and looking like a concrete wasteland. I've had mine since spring 2019, and found it perfect when I took it down to the Languedoc (SW FRance) and rode it in the mountains. The flexible engine lets you get away with the wrong gear on a mountain hairpin, and the taut chassis (courtesy of legendary GP bike frame builders 'Harris Performance', who RE now own) helps a lot if you go in a little too hot on late braking. I love mine.

Hello Rabid, thanks for traveling 200 miles to do this review. I’m been trying to get my local RE dealership which in only 85 miles away to order me a Mark 2. Your review is actually spot on discussion overall with a good comparison to other bikes in the same lineup. What did you think of the OEM seat comfort?

Biketoberfest sucked this year in Daytona. They didn't have any demo rides. I mean, wtf?! Fortunately the local Yamaha dealer near me in Titusville had a weekend of demo days. Got to ride the Tracer, XSR900, XSR700, MT09SP, R7, Super Tenere', and the Tenere' 700. That was fun. The Tracer is the cruiser. The Super Tenere' was slow like a tractor. Surprisingly the R7 was fun but too small. I'm 6', 180# and even pushing to the rear of the seat I could not get into a proper tuck. But the engine is smoother and sharper than the MT-07. I had a 2019 so I didn't test the 2021. No point. Of all 4 REs you tested which did you like best? Which was most comfortable? There's a dealership about 45 minutes from me and they have all of them. And you can demo any bike they have on the lot by appointment so I may have to check them out. I have a serious question for you though. I ride daily. I don't own a car. I've never owned a bike with tube tires and I'm kinda worried about getting a flat. I'm 60y/o and I'm not built to take off a tire and replace a tube, let alone keep that kind of repair kit and tools on board, ya know? Are tube tires as reliable?

After test riding a Enfield 650 earlier this year it made me appreciated the quality, fit and finish of my 2016 Motto Guzzi V7II Stone so much more. The Enfield, IMO, would be an excellent first bike for those that want a new bike but cannot afford other better choices that are out of their financial reach. It is a decent bike at a decent affordable price. I bought a KTM 790 Advventure S last

Eeeek See I have the V7 in my garage. This is mostly I did not have access to Royal Enfield except in passing. So after riding them both this is how I would break it down. Both are simplistic air/oil cooled machines, both are twins, both have great suspension and seating. The V7 adds in some tech, it has traction control and ABS and shaft final drive. The Int 650 is ABS only and chain final. The V7 has a massive 5.5 gallon fuel tank and can in theory make it to 290 miles for tank range (this is my calculations from riding it, although I have not hit there yet I had hit 257 miles and had about 1.7 gallons left so I said add another 40 ish incase not all in the tank can be used). The Enfield can hit over 200 on a tank as well in theory but most claim 180 in testing. I would use the Enfield as a commuter machine. Back and forth to work and some weekend rides. The V7 I would use on longer range touring and rides as it feels like that GT ride.
