GREAT tips - many thanks. Had my Interceptor for a month now and it has had a tendency to cut out whilst approaching junctions etc. I think I'll replace the relays as a matter of course now, anyway. Great clear Tips. Agree with you about adjusting position of the mirrors.
@niamhmarsden98602 жыл бұрын
Great tips. In addition to the grease, the relays also are poor quality. Even with a good 12v supply a little nudge and the magnetic coil lets go of the contacts. At voltages less than 11v they can "chatter" because the coil in them is not up to the job. This causes the fuel pump to stop running. Also as the side stand switch and roll over cut switch operate one of these relays, so the ignition turns itself off. The solution is to clean the grease off, AND replace all four relays with a better quality product. $5 each at your local electronics or car spares store. The bike engine cutting out when you go over a bump or pothole, and cutting out when slowing down to roundabouts, intersections etc. will be a thing of the past. 👍

@Fergutron5 ай бұрын
Great question. In my opinion, no. This isn't a particularly heavy bike, nor is it a light bike. In my opinion, even truly heavy bikes dont feel heavy as soon as you are rolling even at slow speeds. The interceptor is easy to move around off the stand as well as it doesn't have awkward bulky fairings etc. The only correct answer is to arrange a test ride and see how you feel.

Tip 1: Lose every gram of weight possible. Tip 2: Put some weight on in form of bags you'll never use. Thanks for watching.
@Fergutron2 жыл бұрын
The bags weigh very little and are very practical. Nothing wrong with offsetting the weight you intend to add either. For example, removing the stock exhaust for the right 2-1 system can save approximately 12kg apparently. That would offset the addition of a luggage rack and some panniers. Thank YOU for watching and taking the time out of your busy day to attempt to troll me. Have a lovely day.

From the factory, the relays are covered in white grease which is there to protect the relays from corrosion and debris. However there is so much white grease applied that it begins to affect the connection/current. The relays control the fuel pump and starter, an inconsistent current affects the operation of these. This usually presents itself as stalling/erratic idling or other fuelling/running issues. It's easily fixed by using contact cleaner and removing the white grease from the pins. Hope that helps
