Ride and Review of the V100 Mandello

Took my V100 S on a 480 mile trip around eastern Oklahoma. It’s equally as good on the twisty back roads as it is commuting down 235 in stop go traffic. Best bike ever!

I watched this video when it was first released. It was one of the major factors that led me to buying one of these motorcycles, with no test ride no less. I am very happy with my purchase, but in my defense it is my third Moto Guzzi so I kind of knew what I was getting into. It is everything you said it is although I am still trying to get familar with all the electronics. I am so excited to go on some Moto camping trips this summer. I am still working on getting it set up for touring. I ordered the factory side cases which I haven't received yet, dealer screwup. I have engine guards, radiator protector and a luggage rack with a flat platform to carry my cooler for food and liquid refreshment. It is a great modern motorcycle yet still in Moto Guzzi's tradition.

That mistral exhaust sounds good. Maybe I will get one for my Norge. Moto Guzzi makes distinctive and solid machines. Very good ergonomics and handling, and they make the best wind protection with no turbulence oddly. Not the fastest bikes but probably the best to ride at legal speeds on the street. Many good bikes in the world but Guzzis are unique and appeal to individuals - you don’t see many around.

I just pulled the trigger on one of these V100's, so after owning my current Honda for nearly 30 years this will be my 1st Guzzi, looking fwd to something different but still keeping my CBR400RR for days when only 15,000 revs will do!

I have a V100S. I love it for all the reasons stated in the video, but I wouldn't really recommend this bike for a long trip. The cockpit is a bit cramped and the position is a little too forward for all-day cruising. Excellent ride though, love your comments :)

Nice Bike, But I still would wait 1-2 yrs to let any Bugs/Gremlins get sorted out with any new Engine platform Especially from a company like Guzzi/Piagio that doesn't have such a good track record for reliability.

The mechanical parts will be fine but I wouldn’t bank on the clock set up lasting past 10.000 miles they been playing around with smart phones for more than 2 years and they still don’t last past ur phone contract so i don’t hold out much hope for that dash set up

Yes there are hazard buttons but no indicators are not self cancel

I believe it has similar electronics as my Aprilia. The indicators do self cancel but the time delay is so long that the feature is not useful.

What’s with the cruise control signal? Why is it constantly blinking?

That just means that the system is on, but not set. It is a typical thing for a Moto Guzzi.

That just looks so awful , i always liked a Moto Guzzi but i want to just get on a bike start it and ride it using the dashboard info that would help me to stay efficient and on the right side of the law , i’m not a fighter pilot and i don’t want to spend 20 minutes reading a hand book so that i could get it ready to go, i have launched smart phones from car windows and one from a 10th floor balcony and another into a river im pretty sure after ten minutes of trying to get on and ride away i would probably drop it on its side and walk away from it, why is the world so obsessed with digital screen technology , needles dials and switches are my thing and that is just a simple way to bugger up a nice bike
