Hi and many thanks for that video! The 4WD system helps a lot but conditions were hard! Nearly 20 cm - 8" mud!!! So a really good help in nearly all situations!!! But with the fat tyres, the Quad really seems unstoppable!!!! Really Great! Have a good continuation and enjoy your Quad. 😉👍

Yes, normally the 4.8" tyres make it very difficult to stop, particularly with 4WD engaged. TBH, goofing around in that slop was really only for curiosity. If I came across a section like that whilst touring, I'd look for a way around because it absolutly chews the hell out of the brake pads.... !!! :)

@@alanmelvillesbicycleriding1085 hello and thanks for your answer and precisions. Sure that it is always better to have a look to be sure to not be locked and stucked in glue like that!!! But you have learned more and your have shared this with us so it was worth it!..... even if the brakes suffered max!!! Have a good continuation! 😉👍

Biggest piece of crap I ever bought. Mine was broken out of the crate and had the death wobble. The front axel broke and the front tire fell off when I was riding. I also had a lot of trouble with all the chains. They kept falling off. The company will not honor their warranty. I wish I would have listened to the other people who said, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY but I did not listen. The companies video is a real teaser but do not trust it. I know you see it and so did I but it was constantly broken.

@@TableSixMusic hello again. Many thanks for your return. I am sad of your problems and that the company stays blind for your problems. This model with 4WD may be too much technical and complicated. But some problems do not seem logical. Maybe a 2WD model could have been better. Moreover, the company is far, what does not give simple issues. But that is not a reason. I would appreciate the company to answer and give precisions aboutvthe problems you faced. Meanwhile, have a great continuation. 😉👍

@@rnor3146 it sounds like you are trying to justify the companies actions. Therefore, I know you work for the company because I could tell by your verbiage because I have spoken to you before. You are the one that keeps dragging this out. You should’ve honored the warranty. How dare you give me a $10,000 paperweight. Maybe you shouldn’t be selling the product if you know it’s junk.

Yes that's impressive, but I can't help thinking that fat tires might be a little bit better in those conditions. I have a F 326 Trikexplor with an HV kit 72 volt battery, 30ah which goes very well.

Thanks mate, those fat tyres, which are 4.8", it has on in the 2nd half of the vid are the fattest it'll take due to the 80mm rims. But TBH, not even Snowshoes 2XL's would make any difference in those conditions.

They recommend 30 pounds of pressure in the fat tires. We’re you able to get 30 pounds in your tires?

Hello Trike Explore. Sorry to bother you but could you please, explain us why the warranty did not work for a customer who thinks I work for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😶😶😶 I said him I am french and that I don't work for you but he thinks we exchanged before!!!! Many thanks for your precisions. It would be fine to solve the problem and secure your future sales in the world. Have a good continuation meanwhile. 👍👍

Hi there, I really like it. It took some time getting used to the low position on the road as I've never ridden a recumbent before. I find the seat is too laid back and my chin is nearly resting on my chest which gives me a headache after a couple of hours. I'm experimenting with cushions to change the rake of the seat and if successful, will put a hinge point in the seat and steepen the seat back by at least 200mm to get my spine closer to vertical. so far, it's looking positive. [The downside of this is my big fat stomach gets in the way of my leg oscillations, but that's a lesser evil than headaches ! ] The huge drawback for me is lack of cargo carrying capacity. I ordered it with a box on the back, but that's not really any good for carrying anything substantial. I have just [today] finished welding up a hitch and modifying a trailer to tow behind it so I can take my generator ECT. on tour with me. I'm in an unusual position as I tour a lot of remote areas where power is unavailable. I have migrated from a Surly Big Fat Dummy and to carry what I used to carry on that + a trailer, will most likely take 2 trailers behind the Quad. However, balancing at low speeds is no longer an issue, so hills and headwinds no longer phase me. My other issue is the gearing may not be low enough for my use scenario, but only time will tell. When you get it, make sure you go over everything, a lot of the nuts, bolts and screws were loose on mine. The spokes will also need tensioning after a bit of use, they're not laced very tightly. The other thing I found was the sprockets and chains were out of alignment so I had to faff around with them a bit. All in all, it's an incredible piece of kit. The design is very clever and the 4WD does make a HUGE difference in the right conditions. I would love to see them develop a unit with a decent amount of cargo space between the wheels, like maybe keep the seat where it is, move the drive chain components to the very rear, and have the cargo space [100Kg's] behind the seat. I'm hoping to hit the road on mine around the 22/11/22. I will try and put some vids on my channel. I hope you enjoy yours. Cheers. PS. Fixing punctures is a doddle compared to the Big Fat Dummy..... :)

@@alanmelvillesbicycleriding1085 I can’t believe the seat is fixed and can’t be positioned. I have a concept four wheel bicycle and you are able to change the angle of the seat. I am upset of the fact when you said the gearing/chains are not lined up. I had that problem with the Concept bicycle and it was a big problem. How many miles can you go on a full charge? You should definitely let the company know about the pros and cons. Another problem I find is there’s no reverse. Why can’t they have reverse?
@alanmelvillesbicycleriding1085
@alanmelvillesbicycleriding1085 Жыл бұрын
@@TableSixMusic In regards to: 1. The seat, yes it would be nice to have more adjustment in it. 2. The cog alignment, the issue lay more in the derailleur misalignment and the misalignment of the tension pulleys in the system. They were pulling the chains off their respective cogs. An easy thing to fix but the quality control may need lifting. 3. A reverse gear. Due to the complexity of the engineering, namely having to use a dog clutch on the 4WD motor, the only simple way of having a reverse gear would be to incorporate a hub motor on one of the front wheels. I think the assumption is that fit able bodied people can get off and push it backwards should the need arise. 4. So far, I've not depleted a battery on a single ride as I only go to town and back, which is 36 Km's. I then recharge the battery when I get home. Typically, on my Big Fat Dummy, I get 17 Km's to a battery. However, the motor on that is 6 times the power of the Quad and the total rolling weight was 130 Kg's + me. In very soft sand I used to get 7 Km's per battery. The Quad may differ because the weight will be supported by 4 wheels as opposed to 2. 5. Pro & Cons. I will write to the guys and let them know these, but it won't be until I've put at least a thousand Km's behind me with it.

Well, it's not a sports car now, is it? You need to be sitting up a little better for that kind of riding.

I agree. The fixed angle of the seat is a bit of a pain. I now use a pillow strapped to the top half of the seat to help me sit a bit more vertical. Hopefully, Trike Explor will make an adjustable seat frame on future models. I found I have to be careful how upright I sit because it crunches up my stomach too much if the angle is too upright.
