I can understand why ‘Play to Win’ had the most drastic changes. Here, Ocean seems aware of how much of a bad person she is. It’s hard to tell what exactly her personality was originally, but she seemed more headstrong and less narcissistic. She KNOWS she’s a bad person. She views the world and herself as nihilistic. And seems to embrace it. In the current version, Ocean is a narcissist, but a lovable one. She is naive to how much of a bad person she is and this gives her more room to grow. She’s bubbly, she actively disapproves of nihilism. She makes a song about how every story has a lesson, and that ultimately leads to her giving her vote to Jane. If she still carried those nihilistic views she would’ve given the vote to herself in a heartbeat because in her world it wouldn’t matter. Past Ocean seems much more arrogant and I’m pretty sure the writers realized it would have been hard to make someone like that change with the time they were given. So current Ocean it is.

I don't think people are understanding the point of Oceans old song. it's a gospel sermon, those negative things aren't things she's wholeheartedly endorsing like she does in WTWN, it's staged as being between her faith and her ambition. case in point the lyrics "Take out a kid in a wheelchair That's the road to perdition Soon you're gonna wind up an backstabbing ass grabber Rubberneck politician" Perdition meaning "a state of eternal punishment and damnation into which a sinful and unpenitent person passes after death.", She's saying that if she does those things, she's gonna be going to hell and end up morally bankrupt. Further points for this are the lyrics "Now when the game is over at heavens door it's only your soul your soul alone that's keeping score" meaning it doesn't matter what she achieved through her ambitions but the sins or virtuous acts she's committed, with those sins being visualized as poop on the bottom of her shoe

Hi, heres some info on pre-2011 RTC! (keep in mind that there were no productions of RTC in 2010, and 2008 + 2009 were just workshops, actual RTC productions by theatres started in 2011) So it started off with Hank, Trishna, and Corey in early 2008 (Ricky, Constance, Penny/Jane, Ricky, Ocean, and Noel (played by Kholby even in 2008) were all there since the beginning) In late 2008 Trishna was exchanged for Astrid (played by Penny Lamb from LEGOLAND's actor) Then in 2009 Astrid and Corey were cut to make Mischa, and Hank was also cut very shortly after. In 2011 Play-To-Win was changed to What The World Needs, because it fit the plot better (in 2008, 2009 the plot of 'one comes back wasn't there, that's why Ocean is so honest in Play-To-Win. (I got most of this from a website that's basically Wikipedia but for fandom's so some of it might be wrong but still,) Corey's song was a rap-battle against himself in a mirror Astrid's song involves water as a set peice (Astrid is Oceans Ukrainian cousin, also she's Hank's girlfriend) Hank, like Ricky, had to use crutches to walk, but he could talk his whole life Trishna was described as the 'shy nerdy girl who was into entomology, some sources say she had a crush on Hank, some say she was dating him Hank was the boy next door to Trishna, and him and Trishna had a duet called 'Small Things Become Big Things' There are a few remaining pictures of Corey, Trishna, Hank, and Astrid, most of which can be found on pinterest In the two known photos containing Corey he is seen shirtless in both Known lyrics to Corey's rap (copy pasted): Yo I'm the bad egg rotten and cracked, gonna burry you all your haters but with toxic rap I'm from the Ukraine bitch I'm going global I'm blowing up Bigger than Chernobyl Slavic sluts wanna taste my balls Gonna get up inside I'm like a Russian dolls Drippy drippy juice dripping down the leg Baby batter splattered the Faberge egg Call a doctor, quick, me my rhymes are so sick Need an ambulance just to fucking carry my dick (This was copy pasted) Play-To-Win depicts Ocean having a crisis while she questions her morals, where one half of her brain is represented by Taylor Swift, and the other a talking Karl Marx puppet head There is now a longer known version (not full) of Play-To-Win, though it only contains this and some earlier lyrics that are sung by Kholby
