I have two unfinished TOH projects I may decide to finish up one day. But my PC broke around 2 months ago so I haven't been able to make much of anything since :( (But.. I do have another animatic coming in maybe in the fall, but it isn't TOH! I've gotten really into Telltale's The Walking Dead games lately,,)

I love how bittersweet their faces are at the beginning. They seem to be enjoying performing, but they don't love the town as much as the lyrics suggest. By the time their performance ends, Mischa looks absolutely disgusted, Noel is depressed, Ricky is sad, and even Constance and Ocean look disappointed.

I love how surreal you made their fall as they ascend around the world because they really don't know what to think, only about their world, their town that they will never leave and the disconect with the real horror on the ground from horrified onlookers and the aftermath with the police and them rocketing back to earth. In my opinion it should be "hopes" for Mischa, "dreams" for Noel, and "Thoughts" for Ricky. In the musical I don't think Ricky minded being disabled, he clearly has a lot of thoughts, while Noel literally says he dreams of being Monique in post war France, Mischa clearly has hopes to meet Talia, and honestly Ricky more so strikes me as lost in thought by comparison to Noel. I feel like Noel created Monique Gibeau because he could openly express himself as her and also live an exciting and chaotic life in a post war era, and what better way than to express your sexuality than to be a prostitute? Idk, I can't help but feel like Noel fits better in dreams but maybe that's me, it does make sense for Ricky too of course, he too created a dream world like Noel, I guess I just connect to Noel more as a gay person who has struggled with the same thoughts as him (Minus the prostitute part. I perceive this to be Noel's reason for wanting to be Monique Gibeau, its not actually confirmed in the canon universe but this is my head canon for this character since its never debunked either)

I just noticed (this might be a stretch) At 1:25 when the worker is giving thumbs up to somebody, Ricky isn’t looking at her. The frame also pauses for a moment as if somebody was supposed to react and give her a thumbs up back. This might be the implication that Jane was also on the ride but she’s not visible since nobody remembers her after their deaths. If that’s the case that’s so genius

It's funny it took your animatic for me to actually realize breaking at the loop section would cause a trajectory that arcs harder than the sort of Roller Coaster Tycoon flyoff I always pictured.

Glad to see another great animatic from you, it's very good and beautifully done! I always find it interesting to see different interpretations of media in another format than it was orignally made in. Even if I've never seen the musical, I love how your use of symbolism and storytelling gets the gist of what's happening across fairly well. The spinning shot of the stars before the rollercoaster car came back down was chilling, alongside the whole sequence of the decesent itself.

GOD!! I’ve always really been into your animation style but you literally brought one of my long-term brain animatics to life! Everything is so detail oriented and just exactly how I imagined it in my head. Your understanding of musical timing/cues and its translation into principles of animation is absolutely unbelievable and so refreshing after my exposure to so many plain animatics. It’s like a fresh breath of air, as an animator and an actor myself. I just can’t emphasize how perfect and appropriate every shot, perspective, and background detail is. And there were even a few creative choices that surprised me in a way like how I never interpreted the song before!
