The correct way to park is to back in, and many places require you to do so, for a safe and orderly evacuation. Backing in is also much safer when you pull out making it easy to see traffic, and in a truck, is an essential skill, even just into a parking lot to load. No one wants to back blind into traffic, you can get someone killed. Backing in in any vehicle is the safest option, and removes most of the risk when you pull out, instead of Backing out with limited vision.

Simple response- No. Nowhere I've ever been 'requires' you to back in. It's taught for advanced driving for QRT and EVOC, but I HAVE been on bases that do not allow you to back in because enough people have wrecked cars trying to back in, or held up traffic in lots doing a 10 point turn trying to back in

@RainyRider1970 nearly every chemical plant does down here. Big signs, back in only. It's for orderly evacuation. They had too many problems with head in. Pull out is orderly. That's for cars though, in a truck, since the dawn of time (of trucking) the rule has always been "back in, pull out". If this rule is ever forgotten, the first time they have to back blind into traffic, a driver will never forget it again.
