"Panic Button" you pull that from the cab and it shuts off the gas to the applicator bar if you have a leak or something malfunctions. *Note, I only had to use it once.

I was wondering how this would work with strips like you use. You want to respect anhydrous but not fear it. Back in the 70's... as teenagers, we farm kids covered thousands of acres each year. Other than an occasional leak in a valve there was only one accident that I remember and other than stinking up the neighborhood for 2-3 hours, there was no injury that I recall. Like so many things we work with on the farm, as long as you respect it, it is safe as driving a car in the city. (I suggest... safer).

As an mri tech we cool the magnets with liquid Nitrogen or Helium. The purpose of this is too cool the machine so that its near absolute zero where electricity flows without resistance. We have to also worry if the magnet quenches and leaks leaks helium or nitrogen as it expands 175 times its liquid amount and displaces the Oxygen in the scan room. If this quench happens with a pt in the bore, we need to break the glass on our door as the pressure from the nitrogen gas wont allow you to open the door. It also displaces the O2 so the pt can breathe The cool temps from the gas can also cause frostbite.

Them new 8R series with the IVT are pretty darn gutless if you ask me leased a 8245 r and our 8410 out that thing to shame wish they would make most of them power shift get more power to the ground

Somebody educate me please. Won't the tractor on Autosteer turn itself around at the end of each pass? I think it will and was wondering why Travis was turning it manually. Does the RTK steer with GPS satellites or with repeaters in the area.

jbmbanter Last year had a high school kid show me a new Case IH that was autonomous, he said the computer would beep as it came to the end of the field, then you manually made the turn, hit auto pilot and let go....

yeah John Deere is pretty bad about that... always milking all the money out of the system that they can. that system on that tractor, between the display and reciever with RTK, you will pay way too close to 30 grand....then you still have to pay for the activations yearly.

guys forget a+b on tracking mode. switch to a+heading. north=0 degrees East=90 South=180 west=270. pick any number you want, no need to drive across the field the first time

I heard years back of a guy loosing his eye from Anhydrous. I don't think people want a description of what it looked like. It was bad. I would recommend a full face shield, but it is your body.

We use Auto steer to plant peanuts....Because they will completely cover the field and you will not be able to center on the rows when you invert them...Major difficulties without it.....The tractor will follow the stored program used in planting....

There is a video on you tube of a state trooper responding to an accident involving a tank of anhydrous and got a puff blow into his face and is dead in 27 seconds.It pays to be extremely careful with this stuff.

That was very good Travis.that stuff use to scare the heck out of me. When we used it I remember turning it on and off with a rope that was in the 70s do you still have to watch your speed to get the rate right ? We would have the coop set so we would run 5 mph .

Cameron Gallant the 8r is fully integrated so steers from the hydraulic steering valve not the wheel. Your new holland probably had a retrofit steering unit mounted to the steering wheel itself.

when I am planting soybean, if I can get the first run strait then the rest of them will follow that line. distractions of checking seed drops can ruin it real fast since I am manual steer. getting the rows planted correctly makes spraying a lot easier. the auto technology you are showing here is only in my wildest dreams for my farm.

Soybean Farmer if you plant with the RTK, the sprayer will follow your same rows, same for the combine at harvest.

All boils down to cost. A certain amount of risk is involved in all farming. I saved a custom application cost doing it myself, with the added benefit of knowing that it was done to my standards.

57fitter probably for the extra nitrogen corn takes out of the soil compared to soybeans, and I think it takes some nitrogen to degrade the corn stalks

Brad Steigerwalt that shouldn't matter they are running the ravens it will adjust the rate according to the rate of speed that's what that hockey puck is for, I run 6 mph putting on 180 units across chiseled ground but our R series has the front suspension and the suspended cab.
