I want an e bike that'll do 35mph, and I don't have to pedal. I've got 2 bicycles. I just want the e bike so I don't have to pay taxes and tags and insurance and all that good stuff you need for a regular moped, motorcycle, whatever.. I don't own a vehicle anymore because of the scams that go along with owning a vehicle. And this one is at the top of my wish list 👍

Let's be honest here most people who buy this bike are not going to leave it in its class 2 configuration. They are going to unlock it and ride it on public roads because you don't spend $2400 on a bike like this to be limited to only 20mph. If you ride in the bike lane and don't ride like an idiot you can get away with it most police have better things to do. With all of that said obviously be aware there is a risk in doing this a small one mind you but it is there. Is this bike a toy? I would say yes and no in my opinion this bike could definitely be used as short range city commuter vehicle. It has the power to keep up with city traffic in most areas and you don't have to deal with license or registration or inspections so it's a win win.

I just ordered one and am unlocking it. Not going to drive like an idiot but I want the full performance. The laws in Michigan allow class 2 bikes up to 20MPH and class 3 bikes up to 28MPH...so hoping I don't have any issues with law enforcement.

I am using the Surly Singleator tensioner on mine and it fixed the rough pedaling issues I was having.

I have been looking for 6 months and you guys have definitely helped. And I looked into the Moped, and the prices for what get the past week where amazing. But just having an E Bike to only use the power at least for me doesn’t make sense. And yes I want one and no I can’t have one. I finally have decided it’s going to be the Magicycle Deer…

Thanks for this review. All of the others I've seen refer to it only as a street bike and my interest wouldn't be commuting, it would be recreational exploring dirt trails. I was beginning to wonder if the Revv1 was even suitable for that task.

It would definitely be fun for exploring trails, if you planned to bring any gear with you, there aren't many mounting points and its relatively heavy. Worth considering for sure.

They need to do better..a brand new bike out the box and I already have a problem with the tensioner...they need to address that issue and shouldn't have customers replacing defective parts on a new bike still under warranty..

Agreed we would like to see a nicer chain tensioner, granted we really pushed it to the limits of its riding ability. We likely were at the least equally responsible to the chain lifting off. It by no means interfered with how it performed and with a bike like this, spending most of the time on the throttle rather then pedaling it really doesn't come into play.
