What do you think of adding the SRAM GX Eagle Transmission as an upgrade to the Ramblas?
@ElectricBikeJournal24 минут бұрын
No argument that a GX would be nicer than the NX. Smoother shifting, higher quality, but I would encourage putting plenty of miles on the NX before upgrading.

That's a Specialized Fjallraven handlebar bag and mount. If you're looking for large volume that's easy to take on and off the bike, this works great.

battery not replacable. We need to go towards maintable designs rather than land fills. looks good but looks can are deceiving
@ElectricBikeJournalКүн бұрын
Perhaps I don't understand. The battery is "replaceable". Do you mean quickly removable?
@10OZDuster2 күн бұрын
if the battery goes dead how can it be replaced? or accessed easily ? does it have provision connection ports for external battery option for more range ? why not make heavy duty rack like a cargo bike ? why not ?
@ElectricBikeJournal2 күн бұрын
All great questions. No external range extender option. Like any electric bike the battery is removable with a few tools and some time. Cannondale already has an electric cargo bike so I'm sure they wanted something that was more urban focused for those that don't haul as much gear along with them.

Excellent test, the best I have seen, congratulations on it, it has made me want to pedal. I am about to buy it, I have another Trek Powerfly FS 7, which I am very satisfied with, I use it for cycle touring, so this Trek Dual Sport would be for short trips and around the city, and as I have to carry it up a floor, the low weight will be very good for me, I also think I will choose the low profile frame like in the video, the pity is that it does not have a screen to see the battery status, although I have read that there is a smartphone application that indicates everything, for now I would opt for my Garmin Edge Explore 2, which will tell me everything related to climbs, distance, etc... except the battery, which is important, I will have to get used to the light indicators. I have a 20' wheel electric folding bike with a rear motor, so I imagine the pedaling sensation will be the same. I will replace it with this 27' wheel one. The only thing is that in the city with the potholes, I will surely notice the lack of front suspension, even though it has good tires. But it doesn't matter. For me, the top priority now is its light weight of 17kg. My size will also be "M". Greetings and thanks from Catalunya (Spain).

Can you recommend an air fork upgrade for the Velotric Discover 2? It comes with a Uding D5 straight tube fork that is not even approved for ebike use! 27.5 wheel, 110 x 15mm thru axle, stock travel is only 80mm.

@ElectricBikeJournal4 күн бұрын
Drive units have come along ways over the years. These all are rather quiet. When riding trails you can hardly hear them. On pavement or hard pack gravel fire roads you can hear them when they're under load specifically sustained climbs. But none of them are "loud" so to speak.

I just had an interesting encounter The first one in 8 months that I've owned my bike. So I just bought new tires for it and installed them so I went to the park by my house and I'm not going to lie I was kind of ripping around but I have a class two so it goes 20 miles an hour and then I did put a 35 amp controller so I get a little more power and a little more torque and stuff but nonetheless I can only get it up to about 22 max with pedaling. Anyway there's no one there except for one guy on a bike and I see him he stops I fly by him not even close about 30 ft away and he was on a opposite trail in fact and I hear him say you're f****** illegal lol. So me being me I whip a fast you eat and fly up to him and ask what's the reasoning for this sir. He goes you have a throttle and I said yeah and. He said well you can't have a throttle on these trails. And I said okay. Maybe you're right and maybe you're wrong however this is a class two and as far as I know I'm allowed to be on this trail and the street and the prairie paths around my area. That may change. As for now that's my understanding. Now having said that. I'm a very responsible writer I slow down when I see pedestrians I mean my bike weighs about 80 lb I weigh 260 lb if I hit someone it's not going to be a good day for either one of us. Now I've seen more guys on non-electric bikes be reckless than I have seen electric bikes be reckless. I was on a trail the other day and there was a old guy I'm saying maybe 75.80 and he's walking what appears to be a f****** old dog too and they're walking across this bridge me and my wife and my son slow down to about 5 mph meanwhile coming head on towards us is a guy in a f****** 10 speed or whatever flying dude he had to be going at least 20 now the bridge is only about 6 ft wide there's a f****** dog on it and an old man and we're right on the other side of it and this guy flies through there like he f****** owns the trail. Did I say slow down you f****** a****** You're illegal lol no because I'm not a b**** and I don't mind people having fun and it's not my place. So enlighten me. Am I in the wrong here. Is my bike illegal. Or is he just a jealous little b**** kind of like a Karen maybe perhaps. then he said he worked with the police about policing electric bikes oh and I have a video cuz I followed him for a little bit and he blows by a kid well two kids their dad and a f****** pitbull and the pit bull was not on a leash mind you on the prairie path and as he blows by he yells there's a crazy guy behind me that crazy guy was me cuz I was videotaping him I just wanted to f*** with him cuz I think he's a little b****. But anyway who's in the wrong here I'm just out trying to have a little fun man. I mean I kind of feel bad for the dude is that uptight and s***. At the same time just mind your own f****** business dude. I didn't yell at you and call you a f****** p**** cuz that's what I thought he looked like with his tight neon colored f****** spandex pants lol. Anyway that's my rant

I am searching for a bike that will be durable enough to do a non-technical all terrain long distance bike tour that will hold me, 225lb, 45lbs of cargo gear, and two small dogs that will be placed in a soft collapsible crate ~ 47lbs (dogs combined) and 4.5 lb crate. Total weight: 330lbs.
@ElectricBikeJournal12 күн бұрын
That sounds like an awesome time. Plenty of really great options to tackle that adventure. A long tail cargo bike would really help with managing the weight. Bikes like this cannondale and bikes from Xtracycle offer very comfortable riding experience and can tackle long distances well especially with a dual battery setup if you were considering electric. Happy hunting!

Recently watched several of your videos, thanks! I currently have a 6yr old BH City Pro with a 500W hub motor and 600WHr battery. I'm 220lb and like the ability to ride pretty much anywhere with it (put Continental CrossKing's on it) but frankly do ~80% on asphalt, with a fair amount of hills in our area. Riding the last couple of weeks at 15-20mph on the hilly roads I find I only get ~25mi+ range which limits my ability to explore. I'd like to get more range, but also don't want to give up on power going up hills (80%+ time in 30% power, <5% in 70%-100%), nor on the fenders I have. I've been looking on/off for a couple years at Specialized Tero and wonder if I'd be happy with this. A couple questions: should I expect similar climbing performance from the 50NewtonMeter mid-drive as I currently get from my 500W hub? How about range? Would you recommend getting the 90NM mid-drive? Any other recommendations for competitive bikes I should be investigating. Thank you, Ron

Dang that's a bummer to hear. Our first guess is maybe one of the connects has come loose? Of course with such a new bike we would highly recommend going to a Cannondale dealer and having them take a look.
