Good advice, although hard to follow for an enthusiastic mom (lol). This boy is very fortunate to have a mom who truly cares and and it shows by the respect he gives her (I would rather hear more parents yelling advice and encouragement then not)!

I personally wish there were rules to parents and coaches yelling from the sides. When I was younger there were a couple events that banned it outright, and i honestly felt that is where i did the best. After a while my couch (my dad) learned quite a lot from some older retired coaches from the old days, after that he would only limit communication to a few key single word instructions rather than anything that would distract me and pull me out of my 'zone'. I didn't have time to process the words that were being yelled at me otherwise.
