Riders for the Flag March, composed by John Philip Sousa in 1927.
It's time for my yearly Sousa march, arranged and performed by myself as a piano duet! This march was composed at the request of Colonel Osmun Latrobe, Regimental Commander of the 4th U.S. Cavalry and was dedicated to him and his men. Sousa was an avid horseman, and this march is complete with bugle calls, a 6/8 time signature to imitate galloping, and a four-measure hunting call tag at the end.

In addition to ragtime, I'm also a Sousa fan as well. Great job. I sometime use Sousa marches in my job as Washington state musician for the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Yes! Sousa has a wealth of great music, including non-marches. I've recorded one of his waltzes, an overture, and a more rag-like piece in addition to my yearly march duet 😄

That is so cool! Is that your twin sister, Kristin? 😂 One of you has her hair on the wrong side, lol! You know, I think sometime you should play around with camera angles and see if you can't get things like the piano keys, rug, doorway in the background, to all line up, I think that'd be pretty freaking cool. Heh, talk about doing a double-take! 😏

I've tried doing that but it just ends up cutting off part of my body. I'd have to make sure I sit really far to either side to have it work 😅
