I mean, compare it to how the Ukrainians are using the US supplied M113 APC, a very similar vehicle really. That has been praised for exactly being light, quick and nimble. It can perform as a battle taxi running rotations to and from the front line and offering some protection to the crew and men inside. This is a great addition for Ukraine. A lot of people are saying it's too old but look at the stuff being used in Ukraine now. Lot's of the APC's are from 60's design. This is good. Thank you to Sweden.

Yes, its a M113 with more armor, and a 20mm auto cannon, noting special, but very useful on a secondary front.

I've been driving the PBV 302C in the Army and it's fast, 70 km/h through really rough Terrain like Snow and Mud,it's chewing through anything with ease. The standard Armour is 23, mm,Shrapnel and bulletproof, the additional Armour will most likely be added to the Veichles sent to Ukraine since we're sending our entire remainig stock,200 PBV 302C and have no real use for it. Its strength is its speed back and forth to the Frontline carrying a total of 8 Soldiers. It's a very capable IFV now replaced by The CV 90 in the Swedish Army and we also sent 50 to Ukraine with more to come🇺🇦🇸🇪

Heh, my old vehicle. I've had all roles in that one (not at the same time, obviously). I still get a bit nostalgic when an old Volvo truck lets out a bit of diesel smell. (same engine, it's a specific smell) The only problem with it was the cannon, it's as weak as the Bradley 25mm but was quite effective with the grenades as long as you know what those are, they are not explosive grenades, you just fire them into the ground and they spray the general area. It's not comparable to the CV90 but it is certainly comparable to the Bradley. I love that they are getting these but they really need more CV90 and Gripen. Gripen would be a game changer because it can do things that the F16 just can't do, especially now when they are controlling roads in Russia and we don't have a problem using our weapons within Russia.

I think Spall is the other way around. It is for hits where the armor withstand the hit. The "Spall" is small milimiter size shards of metal releasing from the inside of the armour when it is hit and dont get penetrated. And as fas as I kow about the spall liner on this vehicle it is in the form of kevlar fabric mounted on the inside of the armour.
@SkruffyTalez_TheWarzone2 ай бұрын

Also helps when the armor gets penetrated and the projectile brings fragments of the armor with it.

I do realy hope that Ukraine can have good use of those veichels! Its always pros and cons of/to send "older/outdated equipment" to Ukraine! On the other side Russia altso struggle to fit there army wit latest veichels! Soo its kinda better to give Ukraine "older veichels/equipment".. even if they use them as "expendabels"! Soo nr2 its probably better for Ukraine.. to at least have a bunch of "expandeble veichels" then non, that cant protect there soldiers! And then.. there is a perch for Ukraine, when they get those PBV302.. those are made to use in a Nordic climate/lots of bogs/rivers/cold climate/mushy terrain/woods! Its this.. Ukraine share in part of there country similar condition as in Scandinavia.. send those veichels to military units that fights in simailar conditions!

It is interesting to see that the swedish tactics for assaults basically are not that different from the 17th and 18th century. Use artillery to hammer the enemy while the infantry close and charge in with swords and bayonets. All or nothing.

I would say the main advantage is probobly that they are amphibious , a ability that basically all of the Bradleys lossed. Other than that, i guess like a second line attack vehicle behind something more modern like a C90 and a Bradley, they would probobly survive quite good. Of cause, they are not that fast in water, so you really don´t want to make a attack over a large body of water, it better be pretty short over, like a medium sizer river.

20mm is good enough for BMPs. Given that most Russian kit is also cold war era, this is probably still combat effective in Ukraine. I expect AFU tactics account for the threat of drones.
