Just downriver from Nelson, British Columbia, professional freerider Kurt Sorge has hand-crafted a compound that dreams are made of. Originally designed to progress his freeride career, Kurt's backyard has become not only a world-class proving ground for local freeriding hopefuls but also a way to reflect on the simple pleasures in life. After traveling the world for many years and competing at the highest levels, Kurt returns home to B.C. to find peace and solace in the mountains.
Really big jumps, a small cabin, and mountains as far as the eye can see are all Kurt really needs for his humble existence. Addicted to the unlimited hang time and vast mountainous terrain, it's clear that Kurt has found his place in this world. Huge trains on the backyard jumps, solo freeriding deep in the mountains, and a quick dip in the local creek, This is Home.

This is amazing, the mountain and being a freerider hit so different. I wish I could do the things you did and are doing but unfortunately in the eastern Balkans the opportunities I had were far of from mountain biking as they come. But as biking was a huge part of my life I will make it my goal to have jumps in my back yard like you have, one day.

Respect for the shear skill you have learnt from time, training ,fails and injuries you must have had or will have. Beautifully filmed and for a old guy 18years into my 50's I actually liked the jackass soundtrack. His commentary was great. 👏👏. I would like to see this guy fly a new lightweight Fuel EXe with his suspension fitted . The bonus for him would be exploring new territory without pushing. They are a mtb and a Emtb. The time has arrived for the flickers and the flyers to grow up and accept the benefits of the technology that allows us to enjoy life even more on one of mans greatest gravity cheating old inventions the bicycle .
