I have always admired the design identities of the different aero part brands in this game. We have Dig Dug, which is the sort of typical street racer aero, sort of akin to something like C-West or Ings+1 in real life. Their kits are definitely functional enough to work well on a track, but they also look right at home on the streets. Then there's Arkbird which is the very serious, very form follows function type of brand. IRL I suppose they would be a bit akin to APR. You can tell however, that even though their kits are supposed to be aerodynamically functional first and foremost, they also very much respect the car's original lines and create designs that flow very well with the cars. Dragon Saber I'd say is aiming for a more VIP type of look. Think Junction Produce, but with a bit more flair and extravagance. Function-wise, it looks like their designs prioritise low drag and high speed stability rather than absolute downforce and cornering speed. It would be cool if this actually were the case in-game, as in if the aero parts actually affected performance and you could feel the difference. Lastly there's Quox's, the designs of which are just... Weird. They even exceed the levels of uniqueness of brands like Veilside and AbFlug IMO, with designs that shouldn't really make any sense, but on some cars they just do. Definitely more race-inspired than Dig Dug and Dragon Saber, but compared to the level-headed, logical and sophisticated designs of Arkbird, it feels like Quox's designer was just some sort of madman more prone to asking the question "Why not?" than "Why?". If I were to give the brands some sort of alignment it would be: Dig Dug - Lawful street Arkbird - Lawful race Dragon Saber - Chaotic street Quox's - Chaotic race I've had this little essay about the aero brands of RR7 in my heads for years now and this was just the beginning of it. So thank you, snyboyza, for making a place where I could let some of these bottled up thoughts out. Peace!
