Great video, Traxda kits are well design, wish have seen this before installing 2 inch kit in mine. I have a 2019 RTL-E 2 WD, I installed the 2 inch kit in my garage by myself with a floor jack no issues, is been all most a year and 8k miles later not a single problem, For a 3 inch kit looks more labor intensive but i believe it can be done at home if you are mechanically inclined and safety oriented. Excellent job traxda

I previously commented on this post when I had a 2in lift professionally done on my 2021 ridgeline RTL with no issues, or so I thought. Well…here’s the update. Within weeks of the install the drivers side cv boot busted and leaked out all the axel grease and the lower ball joint boot busted. I liked the way it looked but it opened a can of worms with suspension issues and several problems with the Honda sensing. After the lift the lane keep assist would not work properly kept giving warnings that you were veering out of lane when it was not and would try to pull you back into the lane. I would only do this if you’re Ridgeline is older and out of warranty or you have the cash to spend replacing suspension parts because they will wear out faster than normal and Honda will not fix it under warranty because of the lift. Was a huge mistake lifting it, honestly don’t think the Ridgeline was designed to be lifted like body on frame trucks.
@JustMyNipples3 жыл бұрын
thanks for the heads up. was looking to lift my '21, but worried about messing up the sensing.
@revilsdr3 жыл бұрын
@@JustMyNipples I had it done at a very reputable suspension place where I live and it looked badass but it caused a lot I’ve suspension issues immediately after I had the lift done. Unless you’re willing to take on the cost of repairing any damages or Honda voiding your suspension warranty then I would definitely say don’t do it. Just my opinion but I really do not think the Ridgeline was designed to be lifted it’s engineering is to ride like a car or small SUV. When you start trying to lift it you throw the specs on this vehicle off way too much adding a lot of stress to the suspension. You’re better off just going with a body on frame truck if ground clearance is something you want to increase. Most modern trucks 2018+ have a lot of electronic safety assist features that are calibrated to the factory lift height and suspension, lifting the vehicle can potentially cause issues with these features.

Will this void the Power Train Warranty (5 yr/60k miles) of the Ridgeline? What about Honda Sensing - will it needs some re-calibration, etc?..
@revilsdr3 жыл бұрын
It will void your warranty Honda is not ok with mods like some other car manufacturers… I lifted my 2021 and it immediately caused problems with my Honda Sensing would no longer stay in lane when using lane keep assist. I would also get random breaking warnings. When this happens Honda will have to go in and re-calibrate all the radar’s and sensors once they see your car has been lifted they will not want to do any of this for you as warranty work. I would not recommend this on any of the ridgelines that have Honda sensing or if your vehicle is still under warranty. If it’s older and you don’t mind spending money to keep repairing suspension parts when they break then go for it. It looks bad ass but not worth the problems it causes.

There are KZbinrs speculating that Honda will start offering options like better off road tires and a 1”-2” lift with the popularity of the Trailsport and with the success of Subaru’s Wilderness trim. You're not wrong. It's a nice SUV with a lot of room to haul shit. If you want a trail rig you get a Taco or a Jeep something (does Fiat still make jeeps? dunno if I want an Italian offroader). I don't do trails. I want a truck to drive to work in the bad weather, run errands (haul yard waste, buy trees, pick up a huge TV), haul deer in the back after hunting, and tow a fishing boat to the lake. That's all she has to do, but she has to be reliable and I don't want it falling apart after a couple years like a Dodge Ram or Chevy Colorado. So this or a Nissan Frontier would probably be fine.
