*Remember that this saw needs to have adjustments made to make 0 or 90 cuts accurately **MyBest.Tools** I had to use a right angle on the deck and blade and then adjust the bolt to get the correct reading. Once this is done, it works great.*

Superb quality throughout, easy to assemble. I found the saw to be highly accurate and a delight to use (I am a homeowner using this saw for various projects). I attached the saw to a folding mobile stand to save space and that works great kzbin.infoUgkxPeGkHOMe05FySypTOvYumxMn-xi39oRe as well. However, you have to be sure the saw is securely locking in position before collapsing the stand. I've had many of the brands over the years and have come to point where I only buy Bosch, the extra money is a small price to pay for the quality and ease of use. Treat yourself to the best.

"SAWSET PROTRACTOR" is the most accurate miter finder out there. No Math. No gimmick. Do the comparison.

Common sense would tell you to buy the stand with it as well, especially if it is on sale. Instead I waited. Now it's twice as much but I'm going to put it together tomorrow. Something I wasn't sure about is weather you're able to leave the saw on to have it folded for storage.

I am a huge fan of RIDGID tools and my shop is full of them, but I've had one of the 12" sliding compound miter saws for a few years and had nothing but problems with it. The travel path of the blade is slightly off from the travel path of the sliding rails, causing the blade to pull/walk when doing a long cut. Many people say this is due to a manufacturing defect in the casting of the parts. I have been unimpressed with it overall. The gig adjustment at the rail bearings does not fix it. Do you have a fix for this? I'm going insane right now and about to buy a BOSCH.

+jolt001 I have noticed this same issue, and as I do exacting work, it is a pain. It is a small error, but I really wish I could figure out an adjustment for it.

Trying to troubleshoot the lower blade guard. I removed the screw, washers and spacer and found the spacer cracked. I figure that’s my problem but can’t find any documentation about it. The guide arm sticks and the guard does fully retract.

I have the 12 inch RIGID with the light that cast the shadow for the cut--it went out after less than a year of use.... is there a replacement? some folks say its a manufacturing flaw a bad circuit board? any help would be great!

Don't buy this saw, the Actuator Link that retracts the blade guard bends after about 8 hours of use. It is unsafe to use when this happens. RIGID will not stand behind this saw. I have replaced the actuator link 3 times at my own expense. Regret buying this saw. Get a DeWalt slider.

Thank you for this comment! This is exactly what's wrong with mine but I couldn't figure it out until I saw this. It's a bad actuator link made out of junk metal. I found some replacements online though.

Ridgid compound miter saws have a certain appeal===I like how they function===but the blade guard assembly is a piece of crap. It stops working after a while---it stops retracting because of cheaply made fasteners and that black rubberized roller, which wears out. Then you have to retract the blade guard by hand in order to cut, which is more dangerous. Also the orange plastic thingy that the blade travels through on the table of the saw starts breaking up pretty fast. And . . . there are problems with accuracy that have been described by others elsewhere. Overall, I'd spend my money elsewhere, after owning two of these saws and watching them reliably fail in the ways I've stated. All miter saws are made in China now and they all have problems.

Never mind the owner manual and ridgid won't or can't answer my question of how to change the battery for the cut line I guess I won't be able to use mine first disappointment I've had ridgid wanted to charge me five dollars to tell me something that should have been in the owner manual of my 499.00 saw
