For many of us, our work area is always changing. Be it a jobsite, our basement, workshop or an outdoor project, we need a tool that will adapt to our needs and perform well. Finding a table saw that will work for all of those situations is not always an easy task. In one of our growing shops, we had the need for a nice, powerful table saw that did not take up a lot of room. We still wanted a lot of the fine cutting qualities of a larger saw, but we needed them in a smaller package. While there is always trade offs when trying to buy something that will fit into a small space, we feel the Ridgid R4513 table saw fit the bill very well and left us some money in hand to upgrade the blade. This was important to our growing shop because we need a lot of tools at this point.

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this video. I purchased this table saw used and there were a couple of items not listed in the user manual. Specifically I was not able to raise and lower the blade height and ONLY because you posted this video was I able to learn there is a knob to turn the height adjuster. That knob is broken off of my machine and it is broken in such a way that it does not appear that the rotator piece has a broken off knob. I would have NEVER known to turn the specific piece you have to turn had I not found your video. I now have an awesome table saw which I was able to purchase at an AWESOME price

I have the previous model (R45101) and have been thoroughly satisfied. The rip fence on this model seems to be a definite improvement. I agree with replacing the blade. The factory blade is pretty cheap. One I threw on a good Diablo blade and an after market zero clearance throat plate, I was gold!

It's a great table saw, but the one I have was not square out of the box. I had to make some adjustments. My only issue now, after changing to a thin kerf blade, is that the riving knife is too thick. So things would bind occasionally, which is pretty dangerous. I still have not been able to find a thinner replacement.

ive got the r45171 and i been using it about 3 months or so.The blade wouldnt lower or raise ended up braking the bevel knob and stripping the plastic bevel gears i blow it out and or run the shop vac after each day so it wasnt anything on my end that caused the issues.I think i just got a bad one out of the bunch should of spent 200 more and got the better one.

Looking into table saws for my hobby woodworking shop and saw these Rigid saws. They're really nice and so are the Dewalt saws with their racks and pinion fences. My question is... will these little saws ACTUALLY work in a woodworking setting? To me they seem flimsy or cheap only because of the plastic bodies and such. When I see them in the store they seem like decent tools but i don't know if anyone is using this style of saw for a woodworking application

H Donny. I have the 4510 model which has served me loyally for many years. Recently I was doing some cuts and turned it off between adjustments, etc... When I went to turn it back on...nothing. No power whatsoever. Is there a hidden or well camouflaged reset button im missing ? Ive since misplaced the manual and sure my warranties expired. If its a blown motor I will just buy a new one...shes paid for herself many times over and they are fair priced. If there is a simple(though well hidden)reset button i sure would love to save the embarrassment of taking it to my repairguy.... Thanks for your help.

Hi, Donny. Thanks for the informative video! I have a few questions for you and your viewers. First, do you know the major differences between this and the 4512 saw? I'm trying to decide between the two, but portability is not a major feature for me as it will stay in the shop. Second, what are your thoughts on the ruler used? I saw this at Home Depot and thought it was a joke! They seriously used a tape measure blade as the ruler. I just lost some faith in Ridgid over that. Is there a benefit I'm not seeing? Thanks in advance!
@WorkshopAddict
@WorkshopAddict 8 жыл бұрын
+Del Johnston Both the R4512 and R4513 have a ruler built in. I can say that the R4512 ruler is not accurate and I would not use it as a guide. The R4512 can be wired to be 220 and that will significantly increase the the power of the saw. That is a big plus for the R4512. On the downside, the R4512 has stamped and bolt on wings, so the tables, without wings, are about the same size. If portability was not a concern, i would get the R4512 as it is a larger saw and could do more work, but both are nice for the money.

The question always remains, "Do I buy Ridgid or do I buy Dewalt?" Comparable machines always favor the Ridgid regarding price. Most of the television personality construction shows are using Dewalt table saws and Dewalt Mitre Saws yet from what I can tell, you get more bang for your buck with Ridgid. Do others feel the same way?
@johnd3579
@johnd3579 5 жыл бұрын
I struggle with the same debate. Honestly if I were a contractor that used this saw every week I would probably go with Dewalt. Being a homeowner weekend warrior that will probably only use it once or twice a month I think Rigid can't be beat for the money. When you throw in the warranty it's a no brainer. Although if I could get the DW7491RS for under $400 I'd buy the Dewalt.

I don’t care to spend the extra money versus the normal rigid compact saw, but god damnit, I need that wheelie stand haha. I know they do that on purpose so you feel like spending the extra $200 or whatever but I can’t justify buying a table saw without a stand like this lol.

Love your shop Donnie, looks like mine lol! 10" Ryobi sliding compound miter saw, the compact stand for it, the new Ridgid 10" 15 amp portable table saw! I seen you have a lathe back there I don't got one of those. I love my Ryobi 10" sliding miter saw but it has been all but retired lol, I'm super super heavy into the Ridgid 18 volt cordless tool lineup I am up to 20 18 volt tools and 9 batteries right now and I picked up their new 18 volt 7-1/4" cordless brushless dual bevel sliding miter saw a few months back and it works great and I love all the features it's just a great saw, I haven't used my Ryobi 10" since I got my Ridgid it has a smaller capacity but pretty much handles everything I cut. Love the idea of you workbench as an out feed table for your saw, when I got my Kreg Jig a couple of months ago I used it to build a good size workbench and I also made it the height of my Ridgid table saw so it could double as an out feed table lol! One last interesting thing on this saw is I had to take it to my rental today and my truck isn't running right now and it wouldn't fit in the car so I ended up detaching it from the stand then it fit in the trunk and I just set it on the cement to make my cuts and it did great, the plastic base has enough rigidity that it can run just fine without the stand I thought that was pretty cool. Keep up the good work bud!

I had an R4510 and it was a great saw, the motor burnt up, bummer. I bought a Dewalt DWE7491RS which I was not happy with and returned, and bought the R4513 because I did like the R4510 and am considering returning the R4513 because it is NOT the saw I was wanting. I would not recommend buying this saw.This saw is JUNK compared to its predecessor (R4510)1) When the table is extended it sags (almost 1/4" of play), the old was not as bad2) The miter gauge was a very sturdy 18" with a riveted metal indicator, the new one is 14" and flimsy with a tape increment indicator3) Old has 3/4" fence measure tape, new has 1/2"4) Old had micro adjustment on fence, new does not5) The old saw carriage was cast metal, the new is stamped6) The old deck was 3/16" thick, the new is 3/32"7) The fence on the new saw was not accurate (parallel to blade) and needed adjustment out of box

The price of this was recently raised from $400 to $500 at HD. I was waiting for the next big sale near $300, but that will never happen now. It isn't worth $500 and I will not be buying this saw.

@Ray Chamberland The 4 feet broke off - possibly because of sun exposure and cold weather - it is plastic after all.
