Thank you for this video, it's very helpful; I've bought the same saw and very much appreciate the tip on how to square the fence! 🙏🏽😊

Pretty much what I found with my R4514… Really like it
@espressomatic Жыл бұрын
Just received this as a replacement for my 4510 which was in for repair. Pretty sure that one was sold mostly assembled, if not completely assembled. This along with less plastic tooling likely accounts for the lower price on this newer unit.

She was a good saw for what it is. I’ve since moved over to a Delta 36-725. Miss the space saving of the Ridgid, but that’s honestly it.

Thanks for the quick review...since you have owned it for 2 years now, would you buy it again? I am thinking of buying this same table saw but have read mixed reviews on it. Once you squared the fence have you had to go back periodically and tweak the fence any to keep it square? Thanks again!

I've been using this model less than 2 years now and I found some issues. 12:58 I ended up removing the metal bracket where is over the dust exhaust hole, because when I tried to set the angle of blade at 90 degree the blade unit got stuck on the bracket. When you set the blade angle at 90 degree you'll see only the front side the blade moves a tiny bit more than the back side of the blade. And 2nd of all is the degree indicator sticker doesn't indicate the right 90 degree and 45 degree at the same time. What I mean is that after you set the pointer at 90 degree and when you set 45 degree the pointer doesn't point the 45 degree. I highly recommend you to use a digital angle meter when you set an angle of the blade.

Yeah… the angle indicator is definitely an area Ridgid saved money. I’ve ended up adjusting the stops all the way out so I can go to a couple degrees past 90 & 45. It makes it easier to hold true while you lock it in. Definitely don’t rely on the stock indicator.

Setting up the fence was terrible, but once I got it set thankfully it stayed. My main complaint is with my table, there is a slight dip on the left side which is just annoying considering I am coming from an older Rigid saw that was dead flat across the surface.
@diamondwoodworks63732 жыл бұрын
It was annoying the first time for sure, especially coming from the DeWalt line with the rack and pinion fence. Fortunately I haven’t noticed any significant dips in my table. Thanks for the comment! Hope you enjoyed the video.

There's another contributor here on KZbin who likes this saw but also complains about the problem of table flatness. I haven't checked mine because I'm waiting to find parts to complete the blade wheel assembly. Now with this next comment, I'll check it tomorrow!

Thanks for the video,, whats the table surface height from the floor when all set up
@diamondwoodworks63732 жыл бұрын
I don’t remember off the top of my head and the shop is packed up (in the middle of a move). As soon as the dust settles I’ll check and see. I do know it was a bit lower than I liked, but ultimately I plan on building a work bench around it. In the mean time it just sits in a piece of 3/4 in ply to raise it a bit.
@diamondwoodworks63732 жыл бұрын
It’s at 34.5”. Personally it’s a tad too low for me, so I usually set it on some 3/4” scraps. Hope that helps.

Bought one in June 2024 and the casting for the miter is off by 1.5 degrees and there is no way to correct it so all angle cuts are off. Home Depot checked their other stock and all had the same angle issue. Returned it for refund.

Nice video, and helpful. I bought one of these as 'new other' on ebay 18 months ago and opened the box only 2 weeks ago. I found that that 3 of the parts for the blade adjustment assembly were missing. Worse, spare parts for the R4514 never seem to appear online, only the R4513 and other models. Do you have any suggestions?

You can get replacement parts directly from Ridgid, but they are pricey. store.ridgid.com/us/en/table-saws

My box showed up like a hobo that got kicked off a train. Bruised, battered and with the bottom torn out. Except for one loose screw (not mine, btw), everything was there

I bought this and returned it after a week. The lack of rack and pinion fence and the angle markers being off are enough to frustrate anybody halfway serious
@diamondwoodworks6373 Жыл бұрын
Granted I no longer have the saw, but the angle markers never bothered me. IMO if you’re half way serious you would rely on the angle markers and use a digital gauge. As far as the fence, the rack and pinion system is definitely better as far as holding square but they do shift a bit more as they get older and you find yourself not trusting running longer/bigger stock through.

Those fences can't hold a 90 they are seriously flawed I returned mine after 12 days... lifetime warranty can't fix a design flaw

Paid $500 and still have to self tune… Ridgid not for the beginner. 😂
@ginoasci Жыл бұрын
i had one. it’s the biggest piece of crap. do not waste your money or you WILL waste your time and you WILL be very frustrated. horrible tool. took forever to get it aligned and still not right. raising and lowering the blade was “horrible”. first 1 1/2” was ok, then it got real hard. changing the angle was a joke. you have to gravi it from the front and the back and string arm it to love. if you even loosen the snag rod just a little, and locked it down, it would move. that’s dangerous. you should have to tight with your tools like that. the top is not flat. i took the time to swap one out, and that top was also not flat. it also failed when it comes to cut quality. get a load of this…..the blade would move from side to side. SAW MARKS EVERYWHERE!!! ridgid should pay us to even consider using that junk. it’s always the same young jerk that answers the phone in the complaints department so you won’t get anywhere with him. he doubts everything you say as if we have never used a tablesaw before and we are making up what we say. as if their table saw is good quality. he should be fired and arrested for falsely representing a product. ridgid does make some good tools, but they really dropped the ball on this job site saw. save yourself.

As mentioned in a previous comment, I no longer have this saw but I never had any really negative comments. It did take a good while to square up everything, and never got the fence at a perfect 90 to the table surface. However, I understood that stamped steel and aluminum would never be “perfect.” I also never had issues with any of the adjustments. Even if you spend almost double the price of this saw, you still won’t get a table that is flat. The Delta 36-725 is considered one of the best values, and it’s cast iron top is .01 out of tolerance… and it’s milled cast iron! There’s pros and cons to everything. The best saw in its class (DeWalt 7491) has a much worse miter adjustment and a few other issues. Again, without paying $2-3,000 for a saw… you’re going to have to compromise. Thanks for the comment and sorry to hear about your experiences.

Ive gone thru two of these junk saws in two days. First one wouldnt power up after making first cut, second one broke the rip fence plastic tabs when installing it. Quality has gone way downhill.
@diamondwoodworks63732 жыл бұрын
Wow… sorry to hear. The only thing I’ve had an issue with was the fence came out of square. However, I just assumed it was due to my garage being unheated and the drastic temperature change.
