Very thorough review.....sweet. It's nice you mention the lengths of the inflator hoses and 12 volt cigarette lighter cord. To myself being that RIDGED is a hybrid is big plus. The RIDGED also included includes adaptors for other inflatable items as does the Ryobi. A huge plus with RIDGED is the 'lifetime warranty' upon registration. I've made one claim over the years for an expired battery and it was shipped to my door within three days. Yes, with certain purchases RIDGID batteries (and chargers) are also covered with a lifetime warranty. RIDGID honors their warranty well. Despite being louder, half the time to inflate with RIDGED wins me over along with their lifetime warranty. One complaint that I do have with RIDGID is that the stopped adding the rudder covering on the base on their batteries. Not a big thing but I preferred the added protection.
@tgltoday2717 Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I will admit, after using the rigid a lot more, I really do appreciate how much faster it works. Not for nothing but I have filled truck tires (285/75R16) to 55psi with my Ryobi, and this requires a lot more than five minutes. After two years the device works like a champion. I mostly use it to top off car tires and bike fat tires (26x4). It even works for those super-high-pressure road/racing bike tires that need 110-125psi, but you will need a presta valve adapter.
@tgltoday27172 жыл бұрын
I bet that was 10-15. That is actually why I did 35 in the test because I knew it would take a long time and I think most have a max of 35psi in stock tires. I'm guessing you have a 3/4 ton or bigger with that tire pressure. They have a high psi rating they will do, it just takes a lot longer to do. Good to know about the super-high-pressure tires. Thank your for watching and have a happy new year.

One issue I noticed with the ridgid unit was depending on the time of year the PSI could be off almost 1 PSI, though it seems more common when colder. If you feel the hose, their pump gets hot quickly even though it has a cooling fan blowing on it, and if you test the air temperature immediately after inflating a tire, you will see that it is blowing pretty warm air that will quickly cool when in the tire, leading to a pressure drop. I wish they could have included some kind of calibration to compensate for that, rather than just having everyone set their unit 1 PSI above the desired PSI rating to account for the air temperature.
@tgltoday27172 жыл бұрын
I had no idea that was why, but that also annoys me. The ryobi in my experience is more accurate.
@melvinyosten3776 Жыл бұрын
Oh come on guys, 1 psi? Most gouges are not that accurate anyway.
@Razor2048 Жыл бұрын
@@melvinyosten3776 many modern pumps, especially the decent quality ones are quite accurate, the main issue is that they will have intentional offsets based on the duty cycle. On mine, if topping off a tire, it is pretty accurate in terms of matching the value on my separate sensor, though the longer the pump runs, the larger the overshoot is, though once the tire cools for a few hours, the pressure drops a bit and it gets closer to the target pressure.

I see the Ryobi can inflate to far above that. I am already on the Ryobi platform so I have several batteries already. Has anyone ever used this inflator to a higher psi level? I am looking to purchase a portable inflator that is battery operated and if I do not have to buy any batteries, that would be outstanding. I've gone up to 50 psi and it did it no problem it just took a longer, so I would guess you would be fine, you will just have to probably do 1 tire then let it cool down.
