Welcome to Germany - here this law basically applies to every road "pointless driving is forbidden", i.e. going back and forth multiple times on any given road, however this had only actually been inforced when you were going through populated areas, due to the noise potentially annoying the locals, but according to newspapers lawmakers want to strengthen this law .... needless to say that I consider that law total garbage: we pay our road taxes, we pay insurance and we have to comply with noise level restrictions, so if these restrictions aren't enough why is that we get punished for it ... I hope you might be able to reverse that rule via a petition or something. Get together bikers and stand strong!
@FirstClassCitizen_5 жыл бұрын
Kai Yao tough to fight a local municipality as they will ignore anyone who doesn’t live the city or zip code of the general area. Especially since it’s not a major street/thorough way for commuting. It doesn’t affect anyone except the riders who go up and down it repeatedly. Cops aren’t stupid, as they wouldn’t target a local in a minivan. Just the throngs of motorcyclists and sports cars that drive it up and down all afternoon. There are plenty of ordinances around the country that use similar language to prevent and deter “cruising” so I highly doubt this law would be overturned.
@kaiyao27665 жыл бұрын
@@FirstClassCitizen_ I understand, yet I still feel like riders should do something to prevent laws/rules/regulations such as these where noise regulations and the vehicle code are not violated. Banning people from practising their ridings on the streets while being safe (enough) or simply having fun. Noone is arguing that exhausts louder than aeroplanes and wreckless riding should be condemned but simply banning everyone who wants to ride a road multiple times is wrong in my opinion. Should it not be enough to have law enforcement frequent 'popular' rodes to ensure noone is endangering or needlessly annoying their fellow citizens.
@Chris675R5 жыл бұрын
I know that law, because I'm living in Germany. But it only applies within the boundaries of a city (innerorts). Outside of a city you can go up and down a road as much as you like, in theory. If any residents nearby feal annoyed by you (even outside the boundaries of a city) they can call the cops on you and they can send you away (Platzverweis). So you're not save anywhere. The reason I ride up and down on certain roads is simple: there are only a few fun roads here which are not overcrowded and are open for bikers. So I ride this fun stretch of tarmac a couple of times, but then I move on, because I don't want to get the attention of anyone. Sadly those roads are getting less and less every year due to different reasons.
@kaiyao27665 жыл бұрын
@@Chris675R The takeaway positve really seems to be that I have never personally heard of those laws being enforced strongly and without good reason. Still, I feel somewhat worried that laws exist that could be interpreteted to ban riding for fun entirely. I'm thinking of the recent additions to German law, where 'racing against the clock' or 'racing against an imagined opponent' is also illegal, which basically disallows riding a certain stretch of road multiple times in order to improve your riding. For now, I think your approach is one of the best.

That's a dedicated Road the public owns that they don't have a right
@Airbigbawls5 жыл бұрын
It's a roadwork area, of course they try to limit the amount of people going through. And people who are living on this road are not limited.

Unless officers are stopping each rider each time and then continuing to survey up to 6 hours...or placing cams at different points...it will be impossible to enforce...hate to imagine the resources police would have to use to enforce...hopefully, law was put in place for safety purposes.

Wauw that is a bummer! Maybe they should make a maximum on decibels as some bikes make so much noise! I don't believe they hear every bike but the loud ones, those make the locals get angry. Goodluck with that! I hope when i get there next year i am still allowed to drive there xD

I ride Thailand, sport-bikers paradise with virtually no enforcement and loop runs of 375 miles with 1846 curves, and 60 miles with 740 something curves start at my doorstep. I was raised near the Tail of the Dragon.

Pretty crazy though! If you need to actually use the road to go to your girlfriend but then after driving it you find out you forgot your anniversary present.. Then they caught you driving it twice BAM 1000 dollar fine. No fair!

You live in an over populated State, expect tolls to be the next move on a road too many people want to drive on.

Anti cruising laws have been around since the late sixties when boulevard cruising was popular. In that era businesses got tired of people avoiding the area because of the cruising traffic.

I live in a town that once had a cruising scene and the fact of the matter is that if you follow the route people once took before it was banned, it's now empty buildings where businesses USED to be.

I was raised near the Tail of the Dragon, come to Thailand, if you like that. Two closest runs to me go 375 miles with 1846 curves and 60 miles with 764 curves. Check out the Mae Hong Son loop. Regardz

Internet advertising of Deals Gap is exactly what fucked it up. When it was only know to locals and inside the motorcycle community the police kinda looked the other way...........then a bunch of squids with go pros started getting hurt and dead. Posting a constant stream of crashes on look at me sites on the web . So the state reposted the speed limit they patrol it from the air and every weekend and holiday its plugged up with a bunch of morons who can't even run the lower speed limit without toss in their bikes on the pavement. Lets all go there is NEVER A GOOD IDEA FOR ANYTHING. The internet fucked up one of the best rides in America why do you think the problem started in Commiefornia? BECAUSE EVERYBODY WENT THERE .

You sound like a salty old surfer. It’s a public road and therefore open to all the public. It sucks our society has to blow everything up, I agree with that but it’s the time we live in so better get used to it.

laws like this have been in several states I have lived. not really enforced unless blantanly obivous. it was made mostly to stop speeding. racing around and just joying riding for hours back and forth
@markchip15 жыл бұрын
I'm no legal expert, certainly not with American law but that sounds extremely, if not entirely, unconstitutional to me! Definitely NOT in accordance with the mantra of "Life, LIBERTY and the pursuit of happiness"!!

So, it is ok to visit , or to live in, but curfew access regardless, as in " oh I forgot something but can't go back" , wait a minute: I violated the spirit of the statute by posting multiple scenarios of the social equation ;;;;

It's a public road. So idk how that can possibly hold up

They make laws like this and yet they have closed most local racetracks because they are noisy..... (this is actually one of their biggest complaints) and whatever other reason they try to use.

People who live there are screwed then ... pop out for some milk and bread, can't go home for 6 hours .... go pick the kids up from school - bang goes another 6 hours. What a joke ...
@stevenfendley11465 жыл бұрын
Does that mean anyone who leaves there house and comes back in less than 6 hrs get a fine?

I ride up there all the time, but I do understand the home owners......The way I look at it, and how I ride is......There is better riding mere minutes away, so I never understood why you would ride the Snake back and forth all the time, unless you really have a fetish for having your photo taken all the time, which in turn present a whole different issue all of a sudden.

@topixfromthetropix16745 жыл бұрын
I agree. I live on the Mae Hong Son Loop in Thailand, 375 miles with 1846 curves with virtually no cops. The road to Pai, 60 miles with around 740 curves. If you're going to ride, Thailand attracts riders from all over the world with thousands of miles of snake-like curves. Regardz.

Well how's taxing the poor to pay for programs for the poor working out Californiaions? You know elimination of the middleman would be wiser? But where is the power and bloated government if that was true?
