I will never understand the price gouging when parting out an instrument. When researching the price of a bass I sold for $125, someone pieced it out for ridiculous amounts of money ($10 knob, $20 screws, $40 truss rod cover, $50 back plate, etc.). Glad to know that years later no one has paid those prices.

Honestly, one the best sounding Strats I've played was one of those VG Strats that had the Roland pickup and electronics removed and converted back to a normal Strat. It didn't have that battery compartment by the lower cutaway, and the other one by the tremolo was about ⅓ the size of this one. I attributed it to the chambering for the electronics. I have an Eric Johnson that had the bridge pickup routed for a humbucker, and it definitely resonates much more in that area, you can hear it when you strum a chord and listen to the front acoustically. That said, I wouldn't recommend doing it for that goal, who knows if it'll be recreated on every other guitar.

It’s not though. It’s not worth $100,000. Take a zero off the end and maybe we can talk about it. It’s not worth six figures just because some niche guitarist played it. Pat is an icon within his genre, as he should be, but he isn’t exactly a household name. He’s not Jimi Hendrix or EVH. Six figures for a guitar cuz he played it is quite absurd.
@kor21122 жыл бұрын

CUSTOM finish? I know EXACTLY what that "custom" finish feels like. I am involved with an open-mic night at a local bar. The owner of that bar paid a local artist to come in, and paint the tables. And I do mean a legitimate artist. Her work is featured in the local art centre, as well as featured in the local University. Anyway, those tables were never given a clear coat of any kind, a "finish" of any kind. So, when you touch those tables, you are touching the paint itself. As such, even a few years later, those tables still feel like your standard-issue hardware store paint, and are appropriately sticky. But hey. At least they LOOK good.

The only real use for the giant guitar is to repurpose it?
