Riding Dallas DART Rail Orange Line, Downtown Dallas to LBJ/Central Station, Kinki Sharyo Train

Riding Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Light Rail Orange Line (train model: Kinki Sharyo) from Akard Station in Downtown Dallas to LBJ/Central Station. This train journey starts at Commerce Street in Dallas Texas. I've walked north of Akard Street to board the DART Rail Orange Line (northbound) at Akard Station. The Orange Line northbound terminates at LBJ/Central Station during non-rush hour. However, during rush hour or special events (like the State Fair of Texas), the Orange Line terminates at Parker Road Station.
The Orange Line southbound terminates at DFW International Airport (Terminal A) and stops at Dallas Love Field Airport (via Love Link Shuttle Route 55).

Dallas has the biggest light rail system in America. It is a true interurban streetcar system connecting cities towns and villages.

Love this. I’m hyped for silver line and D2 Also there’s been wind of talks concerning Knox but nothing solid yet. I hope DARt continues to run 3 trains on Orange and red lines. I’m excited for the Frisco to Irving line aswell

Thanks! Me too! I can't wait for the Silver Line and D2. There are so many great transit projects coming to fruition in DFW. Also, I saw a presentation that DART is planning to purchase new rail cars for their light-rail fleets. I think they're considering Kinki Sharyo, Siemens, or Stadler.

Some of the Blue and Red Line stations can accommodate up to two cars. However, DART is currently expanding the length of the platform so they can accommodate three car trains. Soon the Red and Blue Lines will run three car trains.
