More tips: Make sure your goggles work with your helmet. Actually that goes for all gear. Blue or amber tint if you need more but go in woods a lot. Fox makes cheap trash. Latex gloves underneath your gloves for cold temps or wet conditions, even snow. Newer racers may want butt padding as they'll likely sit a lot. Laundry net to wash this stuff in. Safety glasses to replace goggles in rain.

Thanks! I'm a new moto rider but raced MTB for about 20 years prior. This helped me

One more thought…if you ride in the trees a lot…bark busters as seen in the video are fantastic. They will smash off of trees and branches without you even knowing it! Some prefer to ride with the lighter version but for me the version seem in the video is far preferred.

Really enjoyed this video and sensible content. Boots and helmets with googles just makes sense of course. I wouldn’t get on a bike without knee protection! Elbows…I ride in a variety of terrain…falling in rocks will only happen once without Elbows pads…LOL. Get em! Really do your research on Chest Protectors. I bought the AlpineStar A10…super adjustable, breath like crazy and most important for me…really good rib protection….my main reason for buying it. Integrates well with my neck brace as well (Atlas). Anyway, much thanks for the content. Really enjoyed it.

Feet, ankles and shins take alot of hits - important to get a good motocross boot. Like he said, get the best boot and helmet you can afford. An added benefit to having good gear is that you will ride with more confidence.

Klim makes a great pair of padded leggings that work as “knee brace pants”.

Knee braces are just as important as your helmet, i would choose knee braces over a roost protector anyday, those knee braces pants are overkill, they have knee braces socks without the feet that work great.

Make your own Grip donuts using those koozies. I cut my own and been on my bike for 8 months. Agree on Alpinestar Boots and Their Roost Deflector. Quality stuff. I have Tech 3 boots now and the A-6 Roost Guard. Knee protection is Mobius. Good Stuff

I had tech 3 boots and the sole shredded holes all the way through within my first 3 rides in them, I ended up getting a pair of $120 fly racing boots and though they still aren’t the best they at least have lasted me a year of riding every Sunday. I ride nearly every single weekend all year round
