While White Star cruise line and Concord are long gone in history books. It's good to know service and luxury is still found in Japan with 1st Class Shinkansen. Hokuriku in particular was designed for quake safety and has even smoother suspension. When I took it, man in front of me had can of soda balancing on window sill. Reminded me of Rolls Royce coin test.

Hello! I am a new subscriber from the United States and have been watching all your videos as time allows. I love seeing all the places you go to and the trains that get you there, as well as the various places to stay. Here in the U.S. (according to Google) we have one high-speed train... "Amtrak's Acela (reaching 150 mph, 240 km/h) is the US’s only high-speed rail service." Maybe one day I will get to experience it.
@NumberNine_911 ай бұрын
There are plans for high speed rail in Texas, but I don't remember the connection points at the moment, but recall reading that they will be using Shinkansen. People are complaining about it being dumb as it will be expensive and the time to drive vs. train. Sometimes it's about the journey, not how long it takes to get there. I wish there was more rail in USA.

Hi from USA, I enjoy your videos. We very poor passenger rail service here (Goverment run) Amtrak is the only interstate train service the fastest is the Acela which I believe can get top speed to 135mph but only in limited areas ,as far as I know the Brightline is the only private rail system but runs only intrastate. I live in a state with no passenger rail service at all except for an Amtrak line on the very western edge of the state with one major station.

@@roncaruso931That’s not quite correct. Amtrak is ran for-profit, but is owned and operated by the federal government. It is funded by just under $7 billion dollars of public funds. The Secretary of Transportation is literally on the board of Amtrak.

AVE from the Spanish public company, Avlo, which is the low-cost company, of RENFE, which is what the Spanish public train company is called, and two private ones, one is called UIGO and is low-cost, there is a French company, and then there is Yryo is an Italian railway company, and it is the only one that uses Japanese suspension, the rest European.

In Australia, the maximum speed in passenger service is about 160km/h. With a population of 25.5 million people in an area of the continental USA, it'd be way too expensive to build anything like the Shinkansen. I shudder at how much it would cost to travel on it.

@travelgeekphotography, I really love your vids, they each are bringing me closer and closer to Japan. Something about this video feels very, very strange and unsettling to me. It’s entirely your style, your artistic eye… but it’s also too perfect. The rule of thirds, the lens flare and blurs, the finishing lighting and color composition. It’s too precise. It almost hurts my eyes st some points. Is this AI? How much, just edit, full concept? So so strange
