Riding Mexico's Deadly Migrant Train: The Beast

🇲🇽 PART THREE: Ask any migrant heading north to the USA which part of the journey they fear most and they will all answer with two words: La Bestia. In English it is translated to The Beast and it deserves the name. Terrible things happen to people on The Beast, from kidnap by the cartel, robbery by immigration officers or just losing a limb below its rolling wheels. And yet myself and ‪@TimmyKarter‬ knew that if we wanted to really experience the Caminante lifestyle then we too would have to face the dangers and confront the very thing migrants fear most...Join us!
‪@TimmyKarter‬ KZbin channel is a place to find our journey from his own perspective. I highly recommend you check it out. Thanks again to him for inviting me on this journey and translating whenever I didn't understand something. Would have been ten times harder without him.

A request: as you know I have never asked anyone to like, subscribe or watch my videos but I have a favour to ask. Unfortunately our good friend and heroic caminante @timmykarter fell very sick after I left Mexico and was hospitalised for an operation. His medical bills were not covered by his insurance and they were astronomical. He is now under sedation. If you want to help out I ask you to go to his channel after this and watch a video or two of his. Leave a supportive message for him to read when he wakes up and drop some likes. It will take you a few minutes only. He’s a great lad as you know from watching the vids he’s appeared in and is going through a really tough time, sick in a foreign country just before Christmas. Sharing some good vibes will help him a little bit. #prayfortimmy

There are many legal avenues to come to America. There are many needy people from countries who can't run themselves. It is unfair to the American people and to those who have sought a legal route of immigration. If they're sneaking in there is a good chance they have already been deported for crimes. Trump was not wrong when he called them out. Many of them are mules or gang members. The American people are not responsible fro their plight but must absorb the brunt of it. Texas ranchers are killed/ gangs flourish in sanctuary cities and spies from every American adversary flow in by the thousands on a weekly basis. There are up to 10000 illegals that come into America on a daily basis, many of whom displace America's own downtrodden in sanctuary cities homeless shelters. Veterans are dying of hypothermia on the streets of New York. (This comment was shadow banned btw)

This video has really opened my eyes to the plite of these people, I become more conservative as I get older but seeing the heart, determination and grit they have makes me want to roll out the welcome to America carpet. It's people like this that made America what it is today and we certainly need more people like this in our country. These migrants are some of the most patriotic citizens we have in America. They don't come here to b**** whine and complain, they actually come here to make America great again.

True. But it's wrong way to help the migrants. IMO they should instead pool their resources to build training centers, so these migrants could get formal training and work legally in the US. Illegal/undocumented migrants are very vulnerable, there are countless stories about them not getting paid because they can't sue their employer or report it to the police. Not to mention abuses they get from cartels and corrupt bureaucrats. These are bunch of lambs on their way to the slaughterhouse.. It's better to drag them down from the train, then and there, than to throw some supplies.

Coming from an American completely against illegal immigration: I wish there was a better way for these people to seek immigration. But having as many illegal immigrants as we do, it creates a lot of problems, extra stress on our emergency facilities they're not paying taxes for etc. Part of this is from the USA providing terrible health care, but it's not fair to the ones paying nearly 30-40% of their earned paychecks. Your videos and other youtubers have definitely opened my eyes to it, but I also see daily the struggles our own Americans go through, we have enough people who need help, before we can help other countries people. I pray all these people find their peace and are able to create a good life, but not illegally in America respectfully.

Coming from a non American, I have to wonder. Why not allow them to come in legally through your borders and make the whole process easier (from my understanding, people are doing this because getting visas and migrating through conventional means are just too expensive). Let them work legally so that they can pay their share of taxes. Let the skilled among them join the healthcare workforce and allow their children to find education so they can one day do the same. Let them construct their own housing. America is a big place, and with so many people coming in, theres so much opportunity to build more.

It would cost almost nothing for the Biden Administration to pay Mexico to stop people from riding these trains. Just a handful of police or Army could prevent people from getting on when it stops and they can ride on the train for the duration of its trip to prevent people from jumping on en route. Or, more effectively, pay Mexico to police their own southern border more aggressively.

It was mostly built by legal immigrants but illegal immigrants played a role. There is not enough housing to absorb the 10’s of thousands that are coming on a monthly basis. I seriously doubt their current life is much better than what they left in Venezuela or other parts of South America.

@@pete25901 With or without the food & medications those people threw at them, they would have continued their trip just the same. They all know they're not planning on staying in Mexico permanently.

The biggest villains in this story are the political leaders and activists who've made these poor people think that if they suffer through all this they'll be given a lovely future in the United States. Their reward for all this is going to be living on the streets or in tents in NYC as the situation there also deteriorates.

This just hits different. Life can be so unforgiving and a simple act of kindness or even solidarity makes all the difference in the world. For these people to go through hell with a smile on their faces is heroism at a different level. Thank you for shedding light on this.

I know they want better lives but this really pisses me off coming illegally to the USA and then they get everything and American citizens barely get anything

Interesting series Bald. Since you have these people in your heart, how about you continue their journey when the arrive to the US ? Head up to Chicago and New York and document their incredible new lives and prosperous futures. Im looking forward to you highlighting their struggle to other migrants coming to the US

This is KZbin at its greatest. The risks he makes to show the immigrants’ plight is Nobel peace price worthy and has never been shown before that I have seen.
