I just got back from Seattle. Rode this and many KCM buses. Also used Via too. And the monorail. That card got me everywhere.

This system was nice, i rode it from SeaTac to University Street station when i was there for PAX West on Labour day weekend, kinda annoys me how the trains say "Doors to MY right/left" should just be "to the right/left" but that is just me nitpicking.
@justininwdw4 жыл бұрын
SgtMays I feel like it has to be that way. Some seats face the opposite way of the driver. So when they say to MY right or left it’s clear
@willy.william45824 жыл бұрын
I have to say as a Seattle Resident, the "Doors to my..." is unique across the US, it is one of those things that just makes ST just that, unique.

You are correct, the trains travel in each direction so the announcement changes depending on which end is the head.

@@willy.william4582 the MAX in Portland also says "doors to my right/left"! I always think it's cute, it's like "aww, the train thinks it's people"

Link LRT's actually travel at 60mph/97kph in the tunnel between the UofW and Capitol Hill stations.
@dlivex94922 жыл бұрын
@@french1956 WRONG: As a result of the above factors, LRTs travel much faster than streetcars, approaching the speed of subways. In optimal condtions, LRT trains travel at 25 to 30 km/hr, subways at 30 to 40 km/hr while streetcars travel at 10 to 20 km/hr.

Yes they are slow but at least MTA trains are a lot faster actually travels up to 55mph at its top speed.

What’s the point of having that tapping thing if there’s no turnstile. So useless
@hcs4life214 жыл бұрын
It's common for light rail systems to have these Tap & Ride readers and lack turnstiles. Dallas' within the past few years modeled its light rail the same way. As for having turnstiles, it seems to only be common on larger transit systems like New York's subway or Chicago's L train. A ridership factor most likely.

The police come on the train and check if you tapped the card
@queenelizabeth81452 жыл бұрын
it runs mostly on honor system but you could have your card checked by a worker if they pass by so if you don’t pay you’re taking a risk
