Crazy how here in Cali if you're on the bus, people think you're broke as hell. But in NY it's fine lol
@berlingray80583 жыл бұрын
That's bc in NYC people don't really prioritize cars bc their train systems can get them anywhere in the city. Unlike cities like Chicago (where I live) & LA the train/bus systems only service the city limits. If you live in the burbs you really need a car.

I rode the bus on and off for 6 years and let me tell you, you will gain great appreciation for a car. Even a hooptie looks like a mercedes when all you have is the bus to depend on. And don't let the bus break down and you gotta be to work on time, or the bus just not come at all, or the bus driver just pass you by and you've been standing out there waiting the entire time............................trust me I got plenty of stories. My heart goes out to everyone that rides the bus, I know the struggle!
@beccadotelpy3 жыл бұрын
He's so right. I took the bus for 3 years to community college. In a car it would take 12 mins. On the bus, with transfers, it could take 1.5-2 hours. It was a real bitch scheduling classes that I could get to on time and not too early or late. Thankfully my work study boss was very good about letting me leave on time so I could catch the bus from school to the city to transfer to the one bus home before service stopped for 3 hours. Public transportation in the US is so inefficient.

@berlingray80583 жыл бұрын
He right about that bus schedule, either you gone be 2 hours early for work or 18 minutes late, there's no in between no matter how early or late you leave your house. I experienced it for 6 years (08-2014) working at a mall, I know what he's talking about. Then don't be in a situation where you gotta close & try to convince your manager to let you leave at exactly 9 so you can catch the last bus back to the terminal so you can get home ( I had to take 2 buses to get to work & 2 to get back home), living in the burbs you need a car lbvs. Riding the bus makes you use your time efficiently tho 💯 😂😂😂
@johnashton47763 жыл бұрын
Agreed need an hour two hours depending on where you are going.
@berlingray80583 жыл бұрын
@@johnashton4776 Yeah, the mall I worked was about 25-30mins away in a car on a good traffic day but a bus commute turned that 25-30mins into a 1hour 35min-45min commute, if both buses were on time it was an hour commute but both buses were rarely ever on time, maybe on a Sunday they'd be on time but of course the schedule was different for Sunday's meaning you had no choice but to leave for work earlier lol

America's the only 1st world country I've been to where you can spend longer than 30 mins waiting for a bus IN A CITY. Also saw a vid about how most of your cities have star shaped routes instead of grids, so going anywhere aside from downtown ends up taking like 3 years. It's like people are being punished for being poor or something. Your government's to-do list is too damn long
@velvetrose77293 жыл бұрын
It's actually hella short because the only things ON their to-do list is..... 1. Which country can we bomb and invade for their natural resources. 2. How can we give more money to the uber wealthy and corporations. That's IT!
