WOW, Leslie... this is a top 10er all around! Epic shots from INSIDE a coach! You really brought this to life... such panoramic shots and vistas! This was gobsmacking stunning!

Thanks Anthony. Using an open gondola is fun - you dont get that freedom on the Durango line

Great video Leslie. Brought back many happy memories. When I went I was in shirt sleeves on the Cumbres and Toltec and in the snow on the Georgetown loop.

Its strange warm at Georgetown, Warm then almost snow on the Durango and wet n windy at Chama

A fabulous video Leslie, I missed it when you posted earlier, sorry. What a feat of railway engineering, along the way there were many "Don't look down" moments, with breath taking views. So pleased I've taken the time to view your video, many thanks for sharing it. Take care and stay safe.

Absolutely brilliant video. Wow what a journey. Makes Shap look like a mole hill and the curves just little kinks compared to what you experienced. Thank you for sharing your holiday. Take Care

Thanks. Its definitely a challenging run! I doubt we exceeded 20mph on the flat bits but mostly 10mph

Fantastic scenery and looks like there was hardly any straight track going up there. Why was the railway built
@LeslieGilpinRailwaysАй бұрын
Built to access the mineral resources - silver, gold etc - it was part of the link to Durango from where the line to Silverton ran as per earlier video. There was a lot of serious competition to access these places by different roads.

@@LeslieGilpinRailways Ah of course There's Gold in them there hills Also good to see they are still coal firing whilst Silverton has gone to oil.
