We’re off to Miyazaki! And traveling for the first time on the “36+3” (Sanjyu-Roku plus San) Discover Kyushu Express! Yes, the train’s name is “36+3,” - but why? Well, the 36 relates to the fact that Kyushu is the 36th largest Island in the world. I bet you didn’t know that! And the “+3” refers to three qualities of the journey: Surprise, Impression, and Happiness. I’ve yet to see the train, but from what I have seen and heard, it’s very decorative and comfortable. We’ll be riding in a car with tatami flooring! The train passes through all seven prefectures. Our journey starts in Kagoshima with views of Mt. Sakurajima, and we get off at Miyazaki. We’ll stop along the way for some local treats. Join us from 14:45, Oct. 21 - all aboard!
