Riding the Hedge - Introduction to Witchcraft concepts

I discovered 'hedge riding' completely by accident during a period of insomnia. I was so tired at night, yet for whatever reason, unable to sleep. I've always been a deep sleeper, and do a lot of journeying to subtle realms (aka 'night-flying') during sleeping-dream states. So hadn't really been motivated to try doing the same thing while awake (if it ain't broke). Nevertheless it happened, as said, by itself. When laying face down in bed while super tired but still awake, I suddenly found my consciousness shifted into a dual state. Behind closed eyes instead of the bed beneath me, I found myself viewing the fields nearby, as though looking down upon them from a height. I could feel the wind blowing over my face and body, as I flew over the land, literally along the tops of hedgerows. Not crossing from one side of the hedge to the other, but energetically riding the length of them (or presumably the ley lines, or energy flows, that they grew along). Later I did fall asleep, and in lucid dream travelled up the planes (crossed over) to another non-material realm. I haven't tried accessing this state again. But imagine were I to try sleep-deprivation along with intentioned ritual, it could facilitate similar hypnopompic or hypnogogic visionary flight. This experience was one of those intriguing 'aha' moments where you directly apprehend the meaning of something typically shrouded in mystery; I was very literally riding the hedge. It's interesting also to think about how hedges are 'highways' for animals. This is how small wild creatures travel overland in cultivated or agricultural areas. The hedgerows are alive with 'traffic' and movement all the time.

I loved what you said about a witch working with both creation & destruction. The Lakota people I live among also believe exactly that too. I wish you give more learning sessions on your videos. Thank you.

This was so great thank you so much for sharing. I'm so new to this and am trying to kind of find my place and how to start doing things. I guess that I kind of have an idea where my place is in this but still this is helpful. Thank you. Im gonna keep looking for your vids.

Im trying to think of how to respond without writing down my whole experience so far. I pretty much wrote down your whole episode of Riding the Hedge and that I found interesting to help me feel grounded.Like to teach me about perimeters. Okay. Concepts. Maybe practices I can do in my home ? Please and Thanks.

I'm a HedgeWitch...most muggles would call me a Channel...HedgeWitches are not green/herbal/garden witches...We have one foot in physical and one foot in non-physical realms.

Yes. I don't channel, but I talk with the ancestors and the bodiless ones. Also reinforcing the boundaries between the "real" mundane world and the other realms.

I would add that all witches are green witches. I think is impossible to practice witchcraft without any kind of connection with herbs and their spirits.

Very nice. Could you say what that gray colored round thing behind your left shoulder? It looks like a heating thing for your pan?

@@ccturner8224 Hey! Yes, it's a lab stirrer and heater, I use it to brew herbs or sometimes distill with my distillation equipment. I will actually make a video soon about it, brewing herbs and the 'witch's cauldron' practice. :)

Hi :) What do You think, why some people involved in shamanism and witchcraft believe that using absinthe and wormwood as an offering to the spirits and deities of nature can cause damage to our energy?

@@kukumuniu5658 Hmmm... never heard of that at all! In Fact wormwood is one of the plants I use in the form of tincture to cleanse energy and prevent nightmares when they disturb me. What exactly do you mean by damage our energy? 🤔 All plants have Spirits and different Spirits have different personalities, this is why they should always be approached with respect and reverence when we want to work with them and a relationship should be established, but I realise I haven't spoke enough about plant spirits in this channel! So maybe I will!

@@medicinae.siderum I can't say what I mean because it's not my idea :) If I understood correctly, it is about our aura and its damage and all consequences that result from it. I talked about ritual of cleansing from curses and maledictions with a Mexican curandero and he gave me a description (if you want I'll send it to you) where one of the ingredients of "white fire" was "rubbing alcohol"(?) I asked if I could replace it with absinthe and he told me that doing this, I could make situation worse :p anyway I have a more serious question for You and a request for a video on this topic.

how to prepare a "seat for the spirit" that we would like to take home with us from the forest? :D I woke up the "green devil" because I was looking for help, and I still need it but in my house I don't want to imprison and catch my "forest fairy" into a trap it's hard to expect help from someone you're imprisoned How do You think we can prepare the "carriage" in which our spiritual ally will come to our home with us?and stay? a bottle left after wormwood vodka(with wormwood and other ingredients still inside)? or maybe green obsydian? But how to make the forest spirit want to live inside remaining free, not imprisoned ? I still don't have the skills to see and hear spiritual beings, I have to rely on my witch friends, but for some time now when I went to the forest to a spring with incense and alcohol, emerald dragonfly appears more and more often near me wherever I go, When I'm at home she flies next to the trees, and when I go to sleep I dream that I'm eating cigars and drinking absinthe :D because cigars were one of the incense offered in the forest spring :> Two days ago a young fox sat down in front of the entrance to my house, and I sat in front of him and we looked at each other :) in the afternoon, when lots of people were in front of their houses in their gardens He lay down on the grass as if he were at own home, like a tamed dog, he sat down as if waiting for someone to throw a stick we were just two meters away :D Next day I bought for him some chicken hearts,of course he ate all but no one knows when although we kept watch to see him again,in the blink of an eye, we suddenly realized that hearts under the trees were gone but no one saw when red-haired guy come and go :) MAGIK!! in the forest and in practice :D Do what you willo-the-wisp ps.entity that I woke up in the forest spring, apparently looks like a yellow-green mist... and ale nature...any idea what it could be?
