Nice! That trail had a little of everything. I have NO IDEA how you guys could breathe well enough to push to the top from 12K to 14K feet. That HAD to suck. We were witness to the fitness. I think I would have been crying in the first few minutes of riding back down when it looked like you were losing elevation so quickly. The rock section at the 5:00 mark looked like a blast, and then it looked like some good flow in and out of the Aspens. Great recap, and fearless riding as always!
@TrailPeek7 жыл бұрын
Willbros it was slow going but getting to the top was worth the struggle. Really had a bit of everything on the descent. Top 10 ride for sure.
@willbros14997 жыл бұрын
Hehe...I know how I felt just walking around at the top of Angel Fire, so hiking a bike up to 14K feet sounds brutal. Where's the air?? :-)

Just did this two weeks so. For those that haven't done it, the top part of descent had some major go pro effect. It's WAY steeper than this video shows.

Nice. I've done this mountain 3 times on my hardtail. The past couple years they've been trying to make it less biker friendly in a few spots. They tried to close down the fast sections at the top and put in these stupid trails that are way too twisty for bikes. So I just ride on the old fast trail.
@TrailPeek5 жыл бұрын
Thats super lame that theyre trying to make it harder for bikes

At first I was disappointed that y'all didn't ride to the top. Earn your turns, and all that. Then I read the hiking reports from Alltrails and contemplated all the factors of hiking/riding at that altitude. Tunnel vision? Altitude sickness? Damn! That's a serious hike, and I hadn't even considered the idea of getting caught in an electrical storm. Pretty neat accomplishment just getting to the top. Great vid as usual.
@TrailPeek7 жыл бұрын
Yea there's no way you could pedal up all of this. The trail has an average grade of 20%. Super loose and nearly vertical in a few spots. Hiking is tough even without a 30lb bike to carry up! Every step up over 13000 feet takes determination.
@cmichael76517 жыл бұрын
You are so right, the last 1,000ft in a fourteneer is pure HELL. I give you guys all the props in teh world for doin this shit while carrying fuckin bikes!!
