I'm not even bothered that 1225 was out of traffic this year, because look at what stepped in to take it's place! Who wouldn't love to ride behind an SD40-2 wearing an SD45 body? SRI should talk to GLC about saving the 329. The NYC esque livery is a bit weird on an SD45 as NYC never owned any 6-axle road switchers (plenty of 6-axle cab units), but it's a vibe I can get behind. By the way, to those people worrying about 1225, nothing bad will ever happen to it. It's future is safe and secured. Even if it ends up going out of traffic for a few years, it's never going to be scrapped. 329's future. . .is still up in the air. It could be preserved and put in a museum or sent to a tourist railroad, or it could be sold off and scrapped.

I’m so upset and devastated the 1225’s out of service again. I hope they can fix the superheater issue up quick and I certainly hope this isn’t the 1225’s final years 😭

@@EquineMetalhead Truthfully, I'm not sure if or when the 1225 will be back this year, I've heard it's a simple fix to others saying the entire superheater needs to be replaced. Patience is definitely key here.

@ Patience ya say? Ehehe….that doesn’t exist with me 🤣 But okay, I just hope she’ll be back for next year. One Last Question: So I live in Wyoming, nowhere near Michigan. But I’m a big fan and lover of this train and I’d really like to ride it one day. I tried to get tickets twice, once last year and once this year. But each time the tickets were sold out. And so I’m wondering if you know when the tickets are released.

@EquineMetalhead They went on sale back on the 25th of July and I kid you not, they sold out in 30 minutes, we were lucky enough to even get coach class tickets! It's a big game of luck with North Pole Express tickets, you might have better luck with any of their other trips if they happen to be steam powered!
