Riding the Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad

Here's a brief overview of the Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad of Romney, West Virginia. These are some of my favorite scenes along the line between Romney and "The Trough." I compiled this footage using drone footage and on-board GoPro footage which was recorded over a span of several trips last year.

Well familiar with the line, although I've never ridden it. I go right past the Romney station on my way to hunting camp every November. You need to see those mountains in the fall- absolutely delicious gorgeous when the leaves are in full color!

Thank you for this video! This was EXACTLY what I needed to see today! The sound was fantastic, and the combination of the cab and drone footage was superb! Honestly I would say this was your best video yet! Is there a cab video from the F7 on the return? There's a section of track along the West branch of the Susquehanna river that's run by RJ Corman that runs from Clearfield PA to well past Karthus, that we do an annual canoe trip in June on, and this really reminded me of that. track snakes along with river, and it follows us the entire trip. Since they quit burning coal it doesn't see as much action, but they still do a lot of grain processing in town so it's still a treat to see and hear the engines battling that grade. Thank you once again for this awesome video! 10/10

Great footage of the cab and drone views. I do no know how you able to catch both at the same time seems tricky. I would imagine you were riding the train somewhere there and was able to launch and recover the drone while on a moving train. Would love to see the cab shot of the return on the F7 engine. Great work and hope to see more.

You should visit the Potomac eagle once this pandemic is over. I live behind the tracks of the Gettysburg and northern railroad and we recently lost our F unit and it got transferred to the Potomac eagle. It's PREX 1755 an ex algoma central scenic railroad unit. I would love to see this engine once again

@@Barbara-jn2gw thank you it would have been more wonderful but it was raining that day and one of the guys on the train who I think it was kind of a special needs guy took his job real serious and he was just yelling to everyone and that wasn't a pleasant experience. But the actual train ride where it went was really pretty. But honestly I think they charge too much money for what we got. We went up to Rock Hill furnace Pennsylvania and went on an excursion that was nicer.

watching this video of the train ride is exactly my point I was trying to tell my husband about the view. I am sure the train ride experience itself is nice but I want a spectacular view and when you watch videos or look at a brochure it shows the beautiful scenery with the train in the background going along the river and that's because the shooting of the pic or video is from outside the train not what you actually see while on the train. I saw a lot of trees along the tracks and some of the river in between the trees blocking the view of the river. This is why I am hesitant in paying for a train ride. I was disappointed in the train ride in Missouri because of the this exact thing and watching this video proves to me that if iI had gone on this trip I would have been disappointed as well. I can see farm land in my own county but when they show the train going around the curve track along the river from the air which was most likely from a drone and print it on a brochure ,people expect to see exactly that beauty on the train and it is deceiving. Show from the window of the trin so that people can actually see what they are going to see from their height not above the train or a drone at the water level. I guarantee you don't see the river as much as you think because the trees are in the way between the river and the track. only going across a bridge gives you open view and between trees which is not often. Thank you for posting this video I just saved myself some money.

David Monk #8250 is a GP9M of Canadian Pacific heritage is the blue one. B&O 722 is former Bessemer & Lake Erie F7 #722.
