Riding the Spearhead Trails in Virginia

Just went to this area Oct 31, 2024, hiking trip .....soooo much to see and do , ride right out of the state park ! Wild stuff , seeing the animals and all. Check it out !

You guys still need to visit HARLAN KENTUCKY " BLACK MOUNTAIN". Next best thing to Hatefeild McCoy and just across the border from there on the KY side. Black Mountain is the highest point in Kentucky. Has a nice main trail and the rest could easily get you killed. Awesome place if you like a challenge and technical riding.

When you say "ATV" friendly, does that include ATVs with a straight axle (and therefore no differential)?

I live here and yes anything is considered "ATV Friendly"...there are just a few rules that everyone has to follow such as keep it between the lines and save the throttle for the dirt

Can you take Jeep on this trail system

The only Spearhead trail that you can ride a Jeep on is the Jawbone I think its 120 miles of mostly Green easy trails is what I've heard. Black Mountain KY is the best place to take a Jeep in the area in my opinion some very technical trails cabins at Harlan County campground are excellent! Hard to get on weekends most non holiday weekdays are easy to get.

Dirt bike are allowed on the ATV route on roads.
