The Yamaha Tricity 300 is one of the most eye-catching motorbikes/scooters on the road! With TWO front wheels, and one rear, it's the oddest motorcycle currently out there. And it's BRILLIANT! This is perfect for backyard adventures on the Devon lanes, and I'd even go to say it's perfect for touring too!
I use riding to try and combat my poor mental health, and once I've got over the pre-ride anxiety, I find that riding forces me to concentrate on the now.
If you're ever thinking you need support, I can heartily recommend Andy's Man Club. They have great banter, tea, and biscuits, and are literally life saving - andysmanclub.co.uk/

Yamaha Tricity 300 is for enjoying driving, not for racing on the road. It is for more calm drivers, not for wild and crazy people. I have one myself.

Great video, thanks! I've got a 2013 Piaggio MP3 500 and I have just today ordered a 2024 Yamaha Tricity 300. So comfortable and felt so much bigger and really planted when I took it out for an hours test ride.

Great vlog m8. It is always good to see someone's eyes opened to the practicality and fun of the mid capacity scooters. They are brilliant. I have owned a couple of 400 Burgmans and a couple of 300 Kymcos and they were all great bikes.

Thought it was going to be the shortest review ever 😂. Security is so good, even the owner can't nick it 😊. We hired a Tricity 150 last year in Greece. The heavy front end is initially a bit overwhelming and we nearly swapped it straight away, but decided to persevere and glad we did. Brilliant little bike (trike). We wanted something a little more sure footed for some of the gravel tracks and it was great for this - enabled us to explore some of the more rural areas of Halkidiki. Much better than an awful quad bike. Plenty of oomph even two up and I suspect the 300 is even better. I'd recommend doing a cbt if coming from a car though. Not legally necessary of course but some instruction will help with the transition more safely. "It's ribbed - and not for your pleasure" 😂 Nearly spit my coffee out.

I don't want to come across as a know everything but the braking system on the Tricity is very special. Let me explain. Right lever is the front brake just as any bike, the left lever is for both front and rear, that's why it feels stronger. The footbrake also affects all the wheels but it's a bit awkward to use so I tend to use the hand brakes which are really good especially if you use both simultaneously. Anyway, I'm happy that you are just as impressed by this bike as I am. Great video! The English backroads are made for bike riding, I think. 😎

@@uptowndisco2 For it to be allowed to be classed as a 'car' it is compulsory to have a footbrake in a lot of countries. Even though the thing is well nigh impossible to use. That's the case in NL anyway and the reason it can be driven on a car license here.

I have a Piaggio 500 LT but brakes are the same, right brake is front, left brake is combines front and rear. Foot brake is combined front and rear. Foot brake is one of the requirements for it to be classed as a 'trike' (as is the minimum distance between front wheels - something Yamaha should have considered when they built the Nikens)). Only bought mine because I can ride it on a car license. I think the Tricity has a CVT transmission, so basically a belt that runs between two pulleys. The faster you go, the higher up the pulley the belt runs so you don't actually get any 'gear change'. Ruts have never been a problem for me as the suspension copes really well and on some roads with grass or gravel, the rear does fish-tail around but the front wheels don't skip a beat (I liken it to having a really fat front tyre for handling purposes). And "la pièce de résistance" is when you are on a long downhill stretch in very slow moving traffic, put the suspension lock on, no throttle and just roll down the hill - never gets old when I'm with my wife (she rides an MT-09) and will constantly be putting the bike in gear, out of gear, covering the rear brake etc and there is me; front brake on, front brake off.

38:16 Pretty much how i would describe mine. Ive had mine a year nearly. The stand assist was the yellow light flashing.. Put that on and the handbrake and it will stand on its own without the stands. As with motorbikes it suffers speed loss in high winds which makes it take longer to get to higher speeds heading into high winds. I put the sports pack on b4 it was ran in. So never properly tested the standard tall windshield at speed. On the motorway it has plenty of speed. I hit 93 mph once according to the clocks. It gets up to 73 fairly rapid for a heavy bike then the rest can take up to and poss over a mile to top end. Yes comfy sums it up. . Enough space for 2 lids under the seat and still a bitta room for sarnies lol. Really fun to ride. Stand assist is advertised that it can pull up at traffic lights or stop etc you can arm it so you don't need to put your feet down. This is extremely difficult to get right as you need to be as good as stopped to arm it and your feet are automatically down by then. Once armed you cannot leave your feet up for pulling away cos the suspension sets at how you stopped at and it will lean left or tlright as soon as you take the assist off (its automatic and releases as soon as you open the throttle ) Its actually quite dangerous. Ive talked to people that have fell off due to this on theirs so you need to put your feet down before you pull away when stand assist is armed or you could be in for an expensive and painful shock. I could ride mine forever, its so much fun. I goy it rather than a bike cos its more comfy for long journeys and safer to have my daughter on. It leans better than it should. But be aware when you have passengers on board and or shopping under your seat as that extra weight lowers the bike i think as when my daughters on board ive twice felt the stand dig in. This also can hapoen on deep pot holes at speed cos it bounces and the stand will hit the deck.

Hi mate, I'm from New Zealand, got this Tricity from 2021, amazing bike, to Nz and Australia doesn't bring the foot brake which is a nonsense cuz is a pain specially for big foot people and also cuz the left leveler links both front and rear brakes!! Many people moved from the Piaggio to this Tricity 300 and also from the Peugeot Metropolis!! Regards from Queenstown New Zealand!!

I bet the remote was turned off lol , I have had My Tricity 300 for 2 years now , not obv if the remote is on or off lol , I always turn my remote off when done riding it saves having to change out the remote battery often . The Tricity rides best when you don't baby it esp at slow speed or it will tip towards the road so quick you will be picking it up , the dealer I got mine from said I am the only person who has not dropped it on it's side on slow maneuvers , he has seen them dropped right out the door , mostly car driver who have never ridden any bike before .

I'm looking at getting a Tricity 155 after riding a conventional 50cc moped for the past 2 years. Looks like it may take some getting used to, I've read an hour long test ride is recommended. All the reviewers I've watched seem to find the seat comfortable and enjoyed the ride. The engine is very quiet too.
