I was wonderig why the halter stays on during riding and the snaffle is just put over the halter. I noticed that this was also done in the other videos from Japan - is that maybe a unqiue japanese way of riding? I am from Europe and I have never seen it before.

It’s interesting. This is also done with Peruvian Pasos. So, not just Japanese. It does have the benefit of always having the halter available when removing the bridle. 🤔

How do they know that the genetic load is enough so that there will be no problems if there is such a small number of them? This is not a criticism, I'm just wondering because this small number is qweit a bit of a concern

I came to this comment section because it was your most recent what in the world makes you think that you're small enough to ride ponies 🤯 I came here because I was just watching the Shetland one I was hoping you were just going to drive them but what makes you think you are small enough to ride ponies? 😱 I thought this was a cool channel but I unsubscribed what you're doing is cruel. What's next on your list to ride miniature horses?

....You completely missed the part where she explains that these are horses that are used to carrying heavy loads, huh? And besides, the place offers these short trips to tourists, the place works together with the society to preserve them, do you think they would have allowed them to do that if it was dangerous for the horses?

@@moonshiro do a little research. No horse should carry more than 20% of its body weight. And I am coming from 60 years of riding training and raising horses you got your information off of a single KZbin posting from people who are making money by renting out the ponies. In my experience I have found that anytime there's money involved with horses the horses will suffer.

@@jandunn3075 First of all, you have no idea what my experience with horses or horse knowledge is I have been riding for over a decade Secondly, an association whose purpose is to protect a race will not actively work to destroy it In addition, it is a remote island that is hardly visited by people And on top of that, these are short trips that according to the video look like less than ten minutes and we don't know how much they charge for them. And in addition to ALL THAT, if you think that in the past in Japan they *didn't* ride these horses, you are almost certainly wrong . Oh and the last point, this girl is a savvy rider with years of experience, do you really think she would ride a horse knowing or even thinking it is putting him at risk? People who love horses, *love horses* and won't do anything to hurt them.
