Two Wheels Three Sheets

Күн бұрын

After surviving a week without their Africa Twin, Chad & Rose depart Peru's cultural center of Cusco, and descend upon the heart of the Inca Empire - The Sacred Valley. After a whirlwind tour of the amazing Pisaq, Ollantaytambo, Moray and Chinchero, they start making their way north to Lima.
But before they can make it, an ambitious detour back into the mountains finds them out of road, and out of luck...

Chad and Rose, just saying thanks for the wonderful videos you two produce. I still enjoy Rose's wicked sense of humor regarding her possible mortal status and Chad's "plans". The scenery we experience with you is just spectacular, the Andes Mts. are just magnificent. Well, stay well and hopefully, you are planning a 4th season.

Peru is a moto-hobo's dream. The shame is that many overlanders stick to the Pan American Highway, which traverses Peru's coast, and is quite frankly, awful! Peru's mountain roads and villages are my favorite in all of South America!

Another great episode, you know it really strange, seems this day and time you have to dig deep and hard to find these remote places, reminds me of that old song, five man electrical think was the name of the group, the song, sign signs everywhere signs, it’s like damn, seems no matter what u do where u go there are hords of people, world we live today I suppose, when and if my buddy should find a place free of all we savor the moment, hopefully next week when we push ourselves and our bikes up to the Yukon and maybe beyond will leave the crowds behind. Anyway love the awesome ride in this video, totally sucks not being able to get up to that lake, show more of your campsites when u do camp, thanks you two for taking us along, incredible scenery for sure. Thanks Rob! The Yukon is great - some of the best campsites and riding in the Canadian Rockies! But be forewarned, it does get crowded this time of year for summer holidays!! As far as escaping the hoards... Cusco, Machu Picchu & The Sacred Valley are definitely NOT best spots for a bit of peace and quite. But sometimes you gotta take the good with the bad. Luckily, there are still plenty of places to get away from the crowds, you just gotta work to find them! Enjoy your ride up North - I know you will!!! Cheers!

The different terraces you visited were amazing, and amazingly, you didn’t visit a cemetery in this episode! Congratulations to Rose on surviving her first bee sting! Route 109 looked epic! What a bummer that you couldn't ride the whole way! At least Rose loves hiking, eh! I loves me the Jin Longs. Yeah, I know the feeling of tourism overkill there, I travelled on my moto throughout the region last year and despite it being beautiful in places the sheer amount of tourists everywhere just ruined it, so fake with all the venders, roped off areas so it wasn’t even possible to glance at the archeological areas without paying a fee. After a couple of sites I didn’t bother going to any others as they all looked the same, tour buses and vans racing everywhere along the roads packed with tourists. In the end I took all the remote roads and stayed as far away from tourist hotspots as possible. Once I did that I had a wonderful time. The other downside to Peru is the garbage everywhere, all over the mountains and all along the highways. I travelled over the mountain ranges of Peru from north to south from one end to the other and returned along the coast, Ill never get over the amount of garbage everywhere mixed with the pollution, especially along the coastline road from Tacna in the south all the way to Tumbes in the north. I constantly saw cars and trucks just throwing their garbage out of their windows. I have many Peruvian friends and they all are ashamed it’s like that, I believe their aren’t municipalities with garbage collection systems so the locals have no choice but to throw their garbage at the entrance or exit of their pueblos, also the garbage collection contractors who do collect the trash just dump it in the mountains to avoid having to drive to the garbage dump site. That being said I loved the pueblo of Caraz and the region of the Huascaran national park, truly spectacular.
@TwoWheelsThreeSheets
@TwoWheelsThreeSheets Ай бұрын
Huascaran & the Cordillera Blanca is my favorite region of the Andes. Peru has certainly turned into a bit of a tourist trap. 20 years ago, it was pretty limited to Cusco & the Sacred Valley, but the word eventually got out that Peru has much more to offer. Regarding the trash, I've always found the majority to be concentrated along the coastal route. Not so much in the mountains, which is where I spent the vast majority of my time.
@gedlyman1

@@TwoWheelsThreeSheets right, the mountains are not so bad as far as trash goes.
@TwoWheelsThreeSheets

My theory as a carpenter is that perhaps they over cut/split/scribed the stone and with a combination of people and animals, used stone on stone with water and fine aggregate to hone the scribe whilst chewing plenty of coca. Did you find any evidence of alien life and plasma cutters while you were up there?
@TwoWheelsThreeSheets
@TwoWheelsThreeSheets Ай бұрын
The only evidence I saw were the walls themselves. I'm as interested in understanding their motivation as well as their techniques. How long would it take to cut, move, scribe, hone, and set hundreds of stones weighing up to 200 tons??? 😵‍💫

@mattgordon9179 Ай бұрын
@@TwoWheelsThreeSheets Get your point. Concept of time would have been way different for them. I was more focused on the smaller blocks. If you had a dual cam system with ropes connected to the block/stone there for moving the block back and forth by way of a heard of Lamas going around and water and or slurry? I guess the tight fit is more about water control more than anything and dealing with the gods that shake the earth.

KZbin is a multi-billion dollar company with an ancillary industry worth hundreds of millions of dollars. There are managers, agents, MCN's, etc... who all want a piece of that pie. A lot will promise creators exponential growth with a money-back guarantee. But in the end, all they're actually providing is a subscription service to a click-farm with fake subs, views & canned comments. That's why so many channels with sub-par content have such impressive numbers... 🤑🤑🤑

@@Wheels2Dirt KZbin occasionally goes after low-hanging fruit; channels that buy "static" or "bot farm" subs. But they turn a blind eye to the more sophisticated operations. The more traffic they produce, authentic or otherwise, the more they can charge advertisers, and ultimately, it's those advertises that pay the content creators, not KZbin. So, it's a "win-win" as far as KZbin (Google) is concerned.
