Love your POV; are you using a chest mount?! I’m a newer rider so I find your advice helpful!

Nice video, as always. How many km's did you ride again at the Stelvio and other passes? Did you transport your Vespa overthere or drove overthere? Would love to see a preperation video, the tings you took with you etc. I want to go to the Canary islands (boat from Huelva) next year from the Netherlands. In total, with driving at the islands, I think about 4000km.

5000 kms in total. Will make a mountain trip with the rally and a friends GL on friday. Will film it, good idea!

Someone may have already said this but please try to keep the captions up long enough to read without having to pause the video. Other than that, great video and thanks for sharing your experinces with this new rider.

in fairness it's been extremely hot where i live (35C-38C!) so i haven't been wearing gloves either. ;) but i do try to wear at least some summer riding pants and my summer jacket--both are a mesh type construction but still have elbow/knee/hip/back/shoulder padding. I've done a couple short trips though where i didn't wear anything because it was just tooooooo hot out lol

Thanks for the nice tips! I just rode my Vespa in my city last night. I usually ride in defensive riding mode. I also tried wearing gloves last night, but I just feel the ride & bike more with my bare hands so I removed it when I head for home.

Riding with gloves at first seems strange but over time you get used to it and you will start putting them on out of habit. Now it feels strange for me to ride without them.

What kind of helmet do you wear? Could you cover the protection gear in a dedicated video? For example, safety vs. styling (full-face vs. jet). Based on your preference but what you also noticed on other riders.

I can't imagine riding without gloves. All I can think about is a degloving injury... you would basically cease to have functioning hands. I use a computer for a living... I kinda miss the orange GTS 300.

Same here, but if you fall and break your bones? I don't worry about degloving injury that much. Gloves are only intended to save a bit of skin if you slide, but if you slide too much no glove available for purchase will save your hands. The safest way is to ride a Vespa in a full Moto GP suit, with full face helmet, all the gear with full airbags, but what normal person rides a Vespa like that to a coffee shop or to run some errands?.... But please, do what you think is safe for you and whatever gives you peace of mind. As I said in all of my videos, do what I say, not what I do.

You should maintain a minimum of 6 second distance from leading vehicle. You look to follow at 2-3 seconds.

If I maintain 6-second distance I think it's safer but that's not riding in groups, that's riding solo :)) IF there are 10 bikes, with 6-second distance, what group is that?
