I wish Union station was Larger than what it is. The DFW area Local agencies and companies and cities are coming together to build a HSR from Dallas to Fortworth and it will connect to the Dallas to Houston HSR and might utilize union station. I'm also ready for the DCTA Extension to DFW airport. The Frisco to Irving Commuter Line. The TexRail extension And the Fortworth-OKC HSR

This would be a perfect line to be double tracked & electrified so that it becomes a RER/S-bahn type of system. (a train every 15-30 min)

Yes they do. There are three trains for DFW area; TexRail, TRE, and DART. All three are quite good, and there is a new DART line being constructed right now. I rode the one in Los Angeles once from LAX to downtown and it was a bit of pain having to change trains and walk to another station to connect.

TRE is getting new rolling stock this year. I believe it’ll be Stadler trains. Probaly the Kiss.

​​@@HOUExplorerI heard the options are either extended FLIRTs or a siemens charger/alstom coradia sets for the TRE fleet replacement.(source-recent TREAC meeting). Update-They appear to be selecting scenario 1(replacing the locomotives with chargers while overhauling the coaches)

I drive for Yellow Freight. At 21:00 ya'll went right by my company's terminal in Irving. I could see my car in the employee parking lot. I must have seen this train a hundred times zooming by me but I never seen it from this angle before. Cool!

Yes. There are plenty of room at the first floor of the train. If you want to stand, I recommend to stand at the bike section.

@@HOUExplorer also, isnt $12 the price for a day pass? Shouldnt just a single trip be more like $3? I know regional is more expensive but I though $12 is the price for an entire day pass.

It’s recommended to purchase the Regional Day Pass for $12 (to board any DART, TRE, DCTA, or Trinity Metro). But if you want to pay only the full one way trip on the TRE, then you have to download the GoPass App on your phone. The one way TRE Trip costs $6 (on the GoPass App, select DART as the agency to purchase the one way TRE ride).
