Hi. I recently gained a full A license and just wanted to say thanks…as after watching hours and hours of your videos (before even sitting on a motorcycle), I felt really confident while taking lessons with my instructor. The tips and advice were in my mind and feel that in addition to what I was taught by my instructor, they really helped me pass! Thanks again!

What strikes me most in this video is the awareness, ongoing 360 scouting, the amount of processing & subsequent actions.

I think the third-party views of you riding and positioning your bike are extremely helpful. Can we have more of these please. As usual, an excellent video.

Thanks for these videos - passed my advanced test a year ago, but never stop learning. Lovely to see the lanes around Bekesbourne again, no longer being a Kent resident.

I am assuming this system generic as not much mention of OSMPSL or IPSGA (my observation & not a criticism). Gave bike (& me) a run today...1st time out in a few days & conditions not great. I identified that I wasn't as sharp as usual, (strenuous day before).....Absolutely no ride dramas but I took it easy, shortened my ride & headed safely home....Commentary can be of value but self analysis & self awareness so important. Thanks & Take Care 😊

@AW8 hi great to hear from you and thank you for your interesting and valid comments Noted and very much agree with you, must admit i have not been riding as much recently due to several factors. Re systematic riding, i chose not to incorporate it in the commentry, though it is very much considered for all hazards, i use IPSGA as opposed to osmpsl in my ride; maybe i will produce a video highlighting systems in more detail. So i was systematic in the video, considering each phase in turn and using as necessary. Thank you for raising awareness and creating potential discussion. I hope you are well, ride safe. All the best.

@@MotorcyclePWR Cheers P all noted/understood.. I identified system just not significant verbals re same. Hernia surgery in next 6 months here. Hope you manage to get "BACK" to a more acceptable situation 😉 Health cannot be taken for granted .A good mate in hia 50s just had a totally unexpected brain bleed when staying in Kent. He is currently in London in Neuro HDU. He otherwise seemed healthy. I am grateful for what health I have & do not take anything (health or othwrewise) for granted. Cheers for now😊

Thanks for the demonstration. Towards the end of the ride as you came off the slip road you referred to the SLOW markings on the road, three of them. You may have previously mentioned this signage and what they refer to, which as you will be aware are for entrances onto the road that are hidden from view. These entrances can be and often are over-grown gates to fields rarely used. Most road users have little understanding what the markings mean and think they refer to sharp bends, a belief which is often reinforced by chevrons that can be seen in conjunction with them.

Thank you, yes, i think many road users don't or cant read the road, and ignorance of signs and markings heightens risk. The greater the paint the greater the hazard! All the best

I’m looking for a high vis jacket like yours, what’s the brand?
@MotorcyclePWR

Its a jacket made of flexothane by a company called Sioen. They were a batch made specifically for uk emergency services but sometimes they do come up on ebay.

I'm always cautious of people with dogs. For some strange reason dogs hate motorcycles and will launch at you causing you to be spooked.
@MotorcyclePWR
@MotorcyclePWR Жыл бұрын
yes isn't that the truth! I think its because some bikes appear very quickly with sudden loud noise so dogs react to that. Ride safe

Please use the word ' responding' as opposed to 'reacting' e.g responding to hazards as opposed to reacting to hazards. One is a considered action and the other is not

Thank you for your comment Mike, makes perfect sense to differentiate between a trained thought out response versus a 250000 year genetic instinct. However, is there any credence to an experienced road user sub consciously receiving a stimuli and starting to initiate a correct action before making a conscious decision to respond? I wonder because i am aware that on rare occasions this has been the case in my driving/riding of nearly 40 years; are these trained responses or deeply honed reactions? I would agree reactions are generally not good, especially as i often say to new riders that human instincts on bikes are largely wrong! But a trained response would certainly be safer and more appropriate as we encourage "thinking riders". Thank you for your thought provoking comments. All the best

@Motorcycle PWR Thank you for your comment also, sir. All I can say is that to "initiate corrective action" before considering that action may lead you to a more significant hazard than the one you were 'reacting' to in the first place. As you will know, proper preemptive planning will mitigate most of these scenarios but even in the event of a true emergency requiring, for example an emergency stop, controlled execution of the action (response) will always be better than an uncontrolled reaction unless you are very lucky. I'm sure that, like me, you would never condone riding a motorcycle relying on luck.

Yet again I completely agree Mike, luck is sporadic and easily runs out, skill on the other hand usually endures and is tailored to the job in hand. All the best
